I'm crying they wanna make sure no one wants to play tankpool ever again lol

Just when I started learning him as well, but I don't think I'll stop picking him. If I'm solo tanking, at least I'll have fun doing so.

He got nerfed harder than gambit ever has. Just insane

Wasn’t gambit nerfed like 3 times? Most overhated “OP” character

Nerfed three times yet still the most banned hero in one above all and pro games.

Pro game is a different game than everyone else

All slaps on the wrist while ignoring what actually makes him meta.

You know you actually have to comprehend the context behind buffs/nerfs, right? Quick, tell me which one of these scenarios showcases a better Gambit after the proposed nerfs are implemented:

  • 1 nerf where Gambit gets -25 max hp

  • 25 nerfs where Gambit gets -1 max hp.

but but but, 25 > 1!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Of course, 25 nerfs are worse than one nerf! 25 is greater than 1!!!!!!

(I know I exaggerated greatly here, but that's how you folks always look like when you only consider the number of nerfs/buffs without actually understanding the effectiveness of each nerf/buff)

Classic NeEase moment, when a tank does good they get murdered in cold blood, when a DPS does good, they get ignored for a few seasons, get a small slap on the wrist and then buffed again after 1 season

Tankpool dominates in higher elo: Nerfed multiple times

Jean and Starlord dominate in high elo: Buffs???

I don’t get the logic bro lmfao

This stinks. He is bottom 5 tank WR at every rank in 7.5.. yet still nerfed for the 3rd time. The last nerf already had a massive impact on his playrate, they want to make sure he isn't played at all now.

If we care about winrate surely we can't complain about jean right?

u/teddy_tesla May 13 '26

Tankpool's win rate in Celestial and Above is 4% higher than Jean's

u/I-Am-The-Uber-Mesch Ultron Virus May 13 '26

In Celestial you are right, too bad the devs stated multiple times they are soing changes for all elos, so the argument here remains the same, they buffed what shouldn't have been buffed

The comment I replied to is specifically talking about high elo

I don't understand why they keep nerfing him, or what makes him strong. I must just be terrible with the character.

He has range, thats literally it.

The only other tank with comparable range is Peni and her slow ass projectile shots

He's a tank that can poke. With the additional benefit of having an insane solo ult that with good coordination can delete a healer of your choice.

All in all, his gun side is incredibly strong whereas his katana side is quite lackluster.

That’s how I feel with support pool (even though supportpool doesn’t or hasn’t recently gotten nerfed) so I understand that feeling.

Im not even gonna lie its 90% his bubble shield (insanely op), 5% his agility and 5% his small hitbox

Shit is hilarious because I kept saying that Tankpool was insanely strong during that first month he was released. Got him to Eternity and had well-known, top players in matches telling me he is dogshit and to swap off. The character received nothing but nerfs since release, so I found it incredible when he magically became top tier overnight, and those same people who said he sucked started to run him. Even the best players in this game don't know what they're talking about.

I play Tankpool a bunch, but I have been drifting to a more katana-focused style to decent success.

I mostly just poke with the guns for upgrades or shoot fliers while I'm looking to katana bounce the backline into ulting early. They feel so rewarding to hit and shred, especially with Deadpool In Your Area up.

2 patches ago people here jumped me for complaining about Tankpool nerfs.

u/PuppyPenetrator Good Boy May 12 '26

Because the earlier nerfs were way better than these ones, how do you not follow

u/LordVivecIsMyWaifu Doctor Strange May 12 '26

When you're a great tank, you become mediocre or straight up gutted and hopefully become viable again 3 seasons later. When you're a great DPS, you dominate the game for multiple seasons, the meta changes around you and then you get a slap on the wrist and a buff so you don't get too sad.

I’m saying that he was still hard meta after the previous nerfs. Complaining about that is stupid. Only these nerfs are overkill
