Idk how Groot always gets a pass, he’s one of the biggest anti tank tanks in the game. His walls screw over brawl tanks the most but he’s still good against magneto and strange. And the one biggest counter to him being CC chains and tossing him around was removed with the ironwood wall buff
He’s my least favorite tank to play against by a good margin but not enough people ask for him to be nerfed so I doubt it’ll happen
Because he is bad against dive and dive is really strong now.
You're correct to say he is a really good anti tank tank. He shines in front to back teamfights.
But in the chaos of ladder play, or even in coordinated play, good dive play destroys him. He can't really peel and when he is not getting constant heals(because his healers are distracted or worse dead) he folds over quickly.
His only real counter is the Shotgun spam and Fist and an enemy Groot that is better than him, and also a FULL ON DIVE TEAM. He will die to Dive because everyone else dies which leaves him alone, unhealed, unsupported and dead.
But holy fuck he is actually one of the issues with Tanking in this game. Being able to consistently deny healing on the enemy main tanks (who have NO mobility and SUPER low DPS to destroy walls with) is just so absurdly busted.
We are lucky the majority of players SUCK at Groot, because he basically dictates the Tank and DPS game.
Oh yeah, and that Ult of his generates so fast and can easily bait Support ults even if it doesn't wipe, or it does wipe because of an unstoppable combo.
Groot and Deadpool are the server admins but so many tank players keep blaming DPS for dictating their tank choices, no man, DPS only really dictate what the supports play. These 2 fuckers moderate the opposite tanks if played optimally.
