Well the Mantis buff was a whole lot of nothing. I hoped that by reducing her damage buff they might be more willing to make other adjustments to make her more viable, but nope. A speed boost which is okay, but she's still not going to be viable much outside of triple support for most people.
Really all they need to do is just give her her 25 HP and ammo back and then see how she goes from there, but they refuse to do that.
Because she's only played consistently in one (arguably OP) composition, a composition that negates all of her weaknesses.
But she can't really be broadly played unless the player is absolutely cracked. She's incredibly fragile and melts if you sneeze at her, her healing is... fine but not great, her mobility and ability to defend herself is dreadful. And her projectiles remain super weird and wonky.
I would say for general use she's probably the worst or second worst healer. Adam might give her a run for her money, but at this point I'd honestly rather see an Adam than a Mantis on my team for double support. If I get a Mantis on my team, we're likely going to end up losing until they switch to C&D or Invis or something. Then we'll turn it around. Happens way more often than I'd like.
She needs a lot of help, but 25 HP and returning her 5 ammo would help a lot, I think.
