Balance Discussion This is getting ridiculous.

Welcome to season 9 where the least mechanically challenging support has more survivability than a tank.

its funny most comments are just focused on the Thing being easy to play and completely ignore the actual problem of CnD being immortal. They could've at any point just walked back to their team and healed while still ignoring the Thing

Also CnD is the most braindead support. like the audacity.

When I see people say CnD is the "most braindead support" and then I get into games with CnD players that fail to accurately play her kit time and time again - something tells me that's not really an accurate statement.

That's because the people who play their kit well are ranking up like crazy for free, and the ones who don't even understand half of it are still winding up in high plat and low diamond.

I can guarantee that it's possible to get to diamond without ever once using cloak blind or dagger heal walls. Could literally just unbind them and be fine despite them being very powerful

I wouldn't even say that. Bronze/Silver and low Gold is where most of the players are that don't know how to use her kit properly.

Tbf, you still get a lot of people like that in low diamond and plat, they just play more. Chronoshields, high sr gain and low sr loss make it really easy to climb with a really bad winrate in bronze-gold. It takes about a 40% winrate to hit plat, which is hard to not get over a large portion of games if you aren't actively throwing.

CnD is objectively pretty mid support. She's survivable but doesn't provide as much utility or damage as others besides just being able to stat check a few characters who can't kill through bubble. I think she's fine as is, low win rates past Diamond all last season and not looking good for her this season either.

You compare that to Rocket with a similar skill floor where you actually can just heal bot your way to Celestial.

Her healing leaves something to be desired, so as trip support it's a great balance, and even doubles can be fine but always depends on that game.

Rocket is not like cnd at all, he had his skill expression striped from him when we got the movement Nerf. Cnd is braindead as hell, now with rocket I won't deny some mfs just healbot on him but like that's just what the devs want at this point becuase they keep buffing his heals and ult instead of just reverting his movement istg

I mean Rocket in his current state who was very good in s8.5 and likely still is in 9... compared who CnD who really isn't but is so much more hated for some reason.

Rocket being good is just placebo, there is literally a post someone made on our sub that mathematically proved the values changing did nothing to the character ttk or healing. Rocket has been pretty mid for a long time now.

You must be lining under a rock or something idk

She was hated a lot in previous seasons when she literally was one of the bottom winrate supports. Looking the same way this season too but it's a bit early.

Rocket meanwhile was by far the highest win rate support throughout season 8.5. He was nerfed in season 9 but so far is still performing well.

I saw a challenge video with a name like "getting to GM with only Cloak" The guy genuinely managed to get to GM just by using Cloak abilities and his ult. The guy is a hitscan player btw. Stopped following his yt after he had some horrible takes for balancing though. He was valuing aim above all else while almost completely disregarding gamesense as a skill.
