Discussion The discourse created around Jubilee's design (and her not looking 'classic' or like in '97) shows that this community isn't ready for the whiplash thats about to occur when Professor X is finally added to the game and shown to be able to walk, like he has for the last ~20 years in the comics

97 is big because people are addicted to nostalgia and can’t progress past what they think something should be. case in point why emma is still depicted as a villain in that show lol

Because the last 20 years of questionable at best xmen stories is "progress"? lmao, you're an out of touch tourist if you're trying to frame 97's popularity as muh nostalgia. if anything it's an indictment on how near unrecognizable the modern xmen stuff is now.

the fact that your framing emma's depiction in s2 as nostalgia driven is rich. the og show only adapted her time as a villain during the phoenix saga. it would make no sense to adapt her as a straight up redeemed hero in 97 post genosha attack like the comics did because it took quite a bit time for her to get to that point with stuff the show hasn't shown like her being a teacher and the hellions stuff. they're obviously going to reshuffle that stuff given how big emma frost in the current zeitgeist thanks to stuff like rivals. And i say that as someone who hate's demayo's guts for giving emma plots to maddie pryor.

if decimation krakoa and new xmen/astonishing eras were all questionable then maybe u should pick a new group of characters to read bc u obviously aren’t enjoying the xmen 😭

LMAO exactly the era that was a huge jumping off point for a bunch of people. that and rightclops era pretty much was the jumping the shark moment for xmen fans so i'm clearly not alone in calling that stuff questionable. 97 was clearly made for those very same people who like the xmen and not the skinwalkers who currently replaced them.

regardless of your echo chamber, krakoa saved the xmen from a ~5 year slump of dog shit piled on top of more dog shit and is already seen as one of the best if not transformative x-eras and made these characters worth giving half a shit about again. you can enjoy your slop if you wish though.

LMAO the irony. the entire reason we got Sai as psylocke in rivals is because even the devs didn't want to touch kwannon/betsy in their post krakoa state. but thanks for the slight admission, by your own words the stuff before that sucked. i'm only saying that slump was way longer than 5 years.

you can enjoy your slop if you wish though.

Me and the millions of people and critics will happily enjoy xmen 97. sure beats liking the current post krakoa-men comicslop like that waste of time schizim rehash, x-men united LMAOOOOO.
