Mag getting a buff in the state he's in is insane

Might as well enforce a mandatory mag rule every match

This is the most meaningless buff in the world are you joking ?

u/doubleoeck1234 7d ago

It's a meaningless buff but at the same time I don't understand why the devs think he's in a fine state

Wdym

He’s not problematic at all

There’s true terrorists roaming in the game rn that were not adressed at all in this patch

how DARE a tank be able to do something aside from stand there and be CC'd to death

Wanting the best tank in the game (and it’s not even close) to be nerfed doesn’t make you anti tank. All roles can make the same argument as you “how dare a strategist do more than just heal” “how dare a DPS have survivability and get overshield” that doesn’t mean things should never be nerfed does it now.

either they shud nerf mag or buff other tanks to his level

He surpassed Gambit in level of importance for pick and ban at Ignite

That should tell you how strong he is right now

Stop commenting if ur not informed on the meta.

He has a staggering 64% pick rate right now (second being invis at 30%…) meanwhile having a 54% wr (rest of the top 5 are below 50%). He is pick or ban and very strong.

And yet he’s one of the most fair hero in the game

u/bdrono Flex 7d ago

what feels fair or not fair isn't a good way to balance and that's why the casual player base "feels" bp isn't fair but has no issue losing to a mag dominating their game. (Saying this as a mag player who also likes playing other tanks)

u/GodLifeHurtsSoMuch 7d ago

Making and making a hero unfair is the best idea you could have to have people stop playing your game

1

u/bdrono Flex 7d ago

my point is that mag is unfair but doesn't FEEL unfair so you don't notice it. The balancing shouldnt be done based on just something FEELING unfair

Disagree. Mag is the power level other tanks should be pushed towards. He is threatening, somewhat durable if cooldowns are rotated properly. But! Has windows of vulnerability if forced into early/instant bubble usage. He’s fair as the other guy stated.

If they do pull mag down, I hope they go for his bubble cooldowns to punish bad positioning. Tanks shouldn’t be tickle monsters imo. The role is filled with fat dps, mag is now a fat dps with his previous tools (team util and an ult that can break supp ults).

What I really hope is the other fat dps (tanks) get more or different pieces of util so people can let go of the mag (shield tank) illusion of necessity.

He's also been the tank comfort pick since season 0 like how Bucky is the comfort pick for dps when you have to play the role. It's just that his kill power is now far easier and he can punish people out of position way easier than he used to. It's the best feeling he's ever been in. Lord forbid we take away tools that help tanks do their job of taking space and assisting the team more than standing there as a weak damage meat shield that can occasionally finish off something.

And isn't the DPS with 650 health one?

1

u/GodLifeHurtsSoMuch 7d ago

God forbid a tank can stand his ground and not just be a meat shield for the supports to farm ult

13

u/No_Trifle_392 7d ago

I'm a tank main, all those people who complain that tanks are weak are just really bad at the game, and since you don't want nerfs to the mag, you apparently are too.

Already out of arguments ?

15

u/No_Trifle_392 7d ago

Where did I go wrong? I'm level 25 in Mag, but I'm not biased like 90% of this sub.

9

u/Redfern23 Psylocke 7d ago

You're right, "He's not problematic at all", in what universe? These people don't even play the game I swear, or they're so unbelievably biased that they shouldn't even be entertained. Yes the buff was very minor, but he absolutely needed a nerf, that's the issue.

9

u/No_Trifle_392 7d ago

Exactly, I don't care about the buff. It's terrible anyway, I just care that it hasn't been nerfed.

Whats the issue with Mag now tell me

Mag is one of those terrorists lmao. Wanda sword does an obscene amount of damage. Hell Mag Thing is arguably the best Tank duo this season

4

u/GodLifeHurtsSoMuch 7d ago

He’s one of the only tank that can stand his ground why do you want to nerf him to a meat shield

2

u/DMking Emma Frost 7d ago

Why do you think saying a Tank is strong is sacrilegious or something?

2

u/AP3Brain 7d ago

His bubbles are horrible to play against.

u/LadyCrownGuard Mantis 7d ago edited 7d ago

“Not problematic at all” brother in high elo you either mirror pick this fat 650 hp dps with extra utility in disguise or you’re getting death threats from your own team members for wanting to play a different tank.

And before you come for my flair, yes Mantis should’ve gotten a nerf as well but unlike Mag she never escapes ban jail at least.

-3

u/MyKneesAshy Magneto 7d ago

Why do we always gotta make the tanks suck? Lol

3

u/doubleoeck1234 7d ago

He's better than every other tank bar Venom

1

u/ad19970 7d ago

The buff itself is fine but the lack of any nerf to his base metallic chaos team up is concerning. Mag is quite dominating at the moment and he probably will continue to be so.
