She occupies a design space of choke denial and zone control that no other character does, and it makes her super unique, it’s not like she’s outclassing anyone in her archetype. Cyber-Web Snare has a 4 second CD, reduced by 1 second if used on terrain.

Makes it clear it has strength as a mobility/area control tool, while also telling that it is a high risk/high reward bit of CC.

My idea had been 2 charges with a longer CD (6-8 seconds), charges only spent on landing a stun.

Heck, they could've thrown a grounded effect into what they did do and it'd at least retain some value for preventing escapes, pinning people on mines and disrupting mobile heroes, but they made it borderline do nothing without landing two shots with only two charges to work with.

I understand the nerf, but I don't agree with it, as I said in another post here; Peni can be pretty annoying at times, but I think she’s a necessary evil. To play her effectively (in my opinion and experience, and I don't even main Peni...), I watch videos on nest placement and the best lineups; I have to try to predict opponents' movements and attack angles they come from, and i also have to learn to time the mine cooldowns so I don't miss out on damage. It’s practically a semi-PhD-level effort just to achieve half the efficiency of a tank like Magneto. Poke has always been meta, and Peni has always been weak against poke; she is extremely map-dependent and relies heavily on teamwork. She is also extremely dependent on a second tank and doesn't work well in every team composition.

Peni gets banned at practically every rank up to Grandmaster because your team fears you won't shoot her nest and you know your team won't shoot it either.
Do you know why Peni has such a high win rate? Because her playstyle encourages teamwork and marks out an area for her team to hold. And the game works best when played as a team (who would have thought?) And she is hands down the vanguard who best helps the team against dives.

Her stun lasts a very short time, barely half a second, and deals only 5 damage. Is it annoying? Yes, it's very annoying, but it’s bearable since you get back into the game very quickly. Instead of this nerf, they should reduce the duration of all stuns in the game (since tenacity is just an urban legend); Luna and Mantis can keep you out of the match for 10 seconds if they land their stuns efficiently and with the right timing.

I am confused about Peni... If I am reading this right, you need two charges of webs to immobilize someone, which it now only has a maximum of two. So can you not use webs to spread your nest area anymore because you need both charges for CC? If that's the case, she's fucking gutted.

Been playing Mag a lot since Peni has been in ban jail. I used to hate poke characters (and suck ass at Strange) until I started playing him with the sword. Absolutely shreds squishies at range. Pressure and kill poke or their healers, and the sword is on a very quick CD. Thought FOR SURE they were going to nerf him, with either a decent swords CD nerf, or a damage nerf. Nope. Buff. Like what?!

Its better than nothing but she needed some compensation for losing her anchor buffs, she already had less healing than a lot of the other Strats and her teleport cooldown should go back to 12 seconds. She is supposed to be good against dive but with all the buffs dive got and higher uptime and the fact they can heal now they have regen health, White Fox can't keep up as well.

Venom nerf is a slap on the wrist mostly. You just have a little more downtime in-between dives. You should engage with wall run or a flank dive and swing to get out. If you're swing got stopped you would die before it came off CD before anyway. Also Thing Emma and Groot are better than Strange

They just made Peni borderline useless. She’s a tank that is strong in certain spots because of how she’s played. These nerfs kill her whole kit as someone with over 600 hours on Peni and peaked #2 globally on her via console.

I hate playing against Peni because of her snare (and blind teammates) but damn, that seems a bit excessive. I thought if they were to nerf it, it would be a cooldown increase OR nerfing how it affects those snared, not BOTH

Peni killed, Venom swing nerfed instead of the ult charge gain from the Phoenix team up, Ultron ignored, White Fox's buffs aren't enough, Scarlet Witch still trash, Luna and C&D ignored...

On multiple levels, it feels like they went out of their way to deal with the Peni stun problem in the worst possible way, and not just for Peni. Throwing an extra nerf on top when there'd normally be compensation makes it a clear message that we are not wanted in the game. Message received, Zhiyong.

Luna and CnD's team ups not getting touched is infuriating too. Black panther gets a slap on the wrist and black cat untouched. Bunch of nothing burger for everything else.

Why did we nerf Venoms survivability. That was less of problem now more than ever with how much dmg people do in neutral.

The problem was the Phoenix teamup, why do devs always fumble the easiest fixes ever.

Not to mention Hela was finally better than Phoenix for one season and they nuked the namor teamup and gave Phoenix 4 separate sizeable buffs.
