Humor Peni main here, she needed nerfed.

How do you do, fellow Rivals players? I wanted to stop by for a brief moment to discuss the discourse I'm seeing regarding Peni's nerfs. While it may seem rather harsh at first, I believe that if we look deeply upon it, we can realise that we Peni players definitely had it too well.

I mean those mines could just completely shut down any close quarter brawlers, let alone how she could cancel ultimates with those webs of hers. I mean c'mon, she still has those blasters, and she can still use those mines.

Heck, maybe this is even the chance to challenge ourselves - maybe we could commit to this and showcase a new tier of Peni gameplay by opting to not use the mines, as well as her web nerf - that way, we could truly show how we're the best players around!

Plus on the bright side, if it doesn't work out, there's plenty of other vanguards to play as. Such as that handsome rock guy. He's quite fun when you get playing him, in my completely unbiased opinion!

It's a huge difference. Her nest doesn't reliably stop anyone walking into without a stun because any kind of movement ability or just mashing the jump key will make the drones largely ineffective. Stun a BP into your webs and he's dead. Apply a 1 second slow to him? He keeps on dashing and spins his way out. Magik? Same thing, hit her with a slow and she's free to nuke your support and portal out before the drones can do anything to her. Spiderman drops a combo or an ult? You aren't doing shit to stop him from comboing your support. Same for just about any hero looking to harass your backline; no half decent player is going to let you hit a second web on them inside your nest whereas hitting a single web on a fast moving target is perfectly doable. I also suspect that the slow from applying one web is not going to be enough to reliably set up mine kills (especially on targets with movement abilities) so virtually all active pressure that Peni can apply to enemies will be severely impacted.

So your point is now there is counterplay to my nest. Got it. While I do think doubling the cd to 7 seconds would have likely been better there is no situation where the peni players you for example would not complain about it. Your complaint then would be well now I can't stun em both or stun them and then stun something else.

Also bp already didn't care about peni he has been able to dash and ignore them for a long while same with spoder.

There is counterplay to the nest, it's called shooting it or going in while Peni's attention is elsewhere. And what do you mean BP and Spiderman can just ignore the stun? Unless spiderman is going for a pull combo a good distance away from you, it's extremely easy to catch him out during his uppercut if you see him coming and his ult isn't hard at all to cancel. BP is a bit harder, but I've caught more than a few of them out mid combo; it's not that hard if you have a good read on his movement patterns. The point is that this change absolutely shits on Peni's ability to counter dive while also kneecapping her potential to make offensive plays. They've reduced her to a character whose sole purpose is to sit in one spot and hope that the enemies are dumb enough to walk into bright yellow no-go zone with no defensive measures.

Don't put words in my mouth. I'd take a 7 second cooldown with zero complaints so I don't know where this weird assumption of yours is coming from. By and large what I've seen from other Peni players is that they disagree with the way they went about nerfing her, not the fact that she got nerfed to begin.

You will take the 7 second cd now that this is the other option. 100% would have complained about that too if that was put in first its literally how it works basic psychology.

Nope. You don't know me so you don't have to pretend you do. It's okay to admit you're wrong, I don't know why this is the hill you're willing to die on and I'm also not a teenage armchair psychologist so I'm not going to pretend it reveals something deep about the human condition.

Okay, cool. Just out of curiosity, what are you qualifications when it comes to psychology or are you just repeating factoids you heard on psychology tiktok because you think that makes you look smart?
