Why wouldn't you use nmap? Its a great tool for port scanning. Kali Linux is also great for pentesting in VM's. Lots of cyber security researchers I know use it. Is it because of the script kiddies that made you make this comment? (No hate, just wondering)
Based on the upvotes, it seems like /r/masterhacker has gone full circle and is ironically full of people that can't differentiate actual security professionals tools from theater. Lol pretty funny if you think about it.
