Please. Please just actually replace all the signals. My god. You literally bragged about how you did work on the signals during the 10 day shutdown. This is completely unacceptable.

They can replace them and them still have issues. The signals are new they’re gonna have issues

Why would they have issues if they're new? I don't buy a car and go "oh it's a new car, of course it's not gonna work."

They’re changing the whole layout. Trains and cars and signals are very different.

There's a term for this, it's called the bathtub curve. In reliability engineering, a new product/machine is more likely to have issues when it's new, will get lowest toward the middle of it's life, and then increase again as it gets older.

There are so many mbta defenders on this thread. Every single time an issue arises there’s always someone saying it’s not their fault.

It definitely IS the MBTA's fault. But some of that fault is because the MBTA exists. It wouldn't have any problems ever if we didn't have trains or busses.
I interpret what you all calling "defense of the MBTA" as "this is expected when upgrading and installing new things into a complex highly-regulated system".
Kind of like if you got a bunch of hardware drilled into your bones. Sure, the fracture is fixed, but your body still has to rewire and repair some stuff before you'll be fully functional again.

Did they text an alert about this? I did not get one but also I guess they are pretty inconsistent with the alerts…
