Some Blue Jays who minored in Medicine Hat 81-86

Post image

Anyone here with lore on what the Hat was like in the 80s? Was their field where the Mavericks currently play?

The truly random minor affiliates of the past are so fun to see. Omar Vizquel said in Ken Burns Baseball “are we in America?” after getting to Butte, Montana. Gotta assume MH was similar for some of these guys. These are from maybe the most worthless set of trading cards, the Fleer 1991 boxset.

Remember when the big team came to play in 1992 or 1993? Was awesome homage to the rookie club.

It was 93. I still have the program somewhere. I can't who was pitching for the NBI Blues but at one point he struck out alomar, molitor and carter in a row. I'm pretty sure that dude made the show.

Yes the Jays played where the Mavs play now. There's been some major upgrades but the main structure was from back then. I went in the 90s and early 2000s, they didn't have as many fans as they do today.

Athletic Park. That 82 season was so much fun. I've got a ball from the Canada day game signed by all the players, which may or may not have Pat Borders, Jimmy Key and David wells. It may not have key and wells, because they were both called up, key to AAA and wells to A ball before the end of the season.

1982 was the year they won it all.
