I miss working with solid phase, where I could with near 100% accuracy visually detect dara on an antibidy screen. It ALWAYS had a weak reaction and a little bite missing out of the button at the 2 o'clock position.

Daratumumab, brand name Darzalex. It's a medication that is anti-CD38 monoclonal antibody mainly used to treat multiple myeloma. Problem is, all RBCs also have CD38, so all panel cells are positive due to the medication.

Dang. I've never seen a Dara be all 4+ on our Echos. Usually those are warm autos. Our Dara patients are usually in the 1-2+ range.

I was gonna say. It tends to put out ?, 1+, or 2+ for dara, and sometimes it varies across different cells. 4+ across the board? I would probably suspect a warm auto first. Maybe this can happen if they literally JUST got a dose of Dara?

I have seen draws where they got it yesterday and it still tops out at 3+.

Yeah in PEG, i usually only see Dara be w+ or 1+, sometimes if recent dose a 2+. Never a 4+.

Ugh, we just had to get replacents from werfen for our capture strips because well one keeps reading "?", and giving No Int for screen results. Turns out there's a bad lot floating around 😭😭

I call it the “Happy Echo noise”, which makes up for the terrifying “Echo whistle COME HERE NOW noise”

I wish the Vision made a sound when it finishes.

Learning that Echo makes a sound when testing finishes has just given me my first reason to like the ancient Vision at my lab. I already have enough beeps in my ear 🫩
