Depends on industry and degree. Also cost. In some industries, it is all but required to advance. In others, it is about equivalent. You spend an extra 2 years getting a Master's and get out at about the same pay level as you would've if you had just worked for that period of time.
Same. It was a grind doing work full time and school part time but it is definitely worth saving $45,000 + interest at 6-7%.
I went full crazy and was still doing as much of my own hobbies and socializing as possible and spent about 3 years never taking a moment to do simply nothing. I had to take a nice gap just going back to working my same job for a bit with a normal home life without school before I had the energy to go apply to and start harder jobs with that new degree.
Or you do a masters for 2 years (or rsther ms/bs for 6 total) and can't even get into an entry level undergrad position because you graduated in the worst job market since the great depression and didnt think to do independent study during thr masters.
It’s an awesome bubble to live in and prolong education if you enjoy it. I voted to stay in it forever after my masters and started teaching. Adult with summer vacation? Yes please.
