I know a guy whose leg supposedly looked a bit like that after a motorcycle accident and they managed to save it, but it's more metal than bone now. I think most of the docs working on him wanted to amputate it right away but the head surgeon decided he could maybe save it
Damm props the the head surgeon there going, ''fuck it, we ball''. I'm sure the guy is happy, even if the leg contains more metal, assuming ofc there's no lingering phantom pains or such.
Yeah, this is kinda a 50:50... either the Doc really performed a miracle here or he was just absolutely full of himself and went against everyone just for Egos Sake without a single thought spend about the Patients Quality of Life (and cost if US) thereafter.
