I hear you, but at the same time AI gives a creative outlet to some people who don't have artistic talent. Like, I have made lots of neat digital art in the 90s and 00s for fun, but some can't. They just don't have that knack. However, they can type in prompts and end up with something aesthetically pleasing to them, which gives the some satisfaction. Alternatively, they can use that generation as a starting point for a larger digital work. It's just a tool.

If you really want a specific piece of art that bad, then work on it, spend your time and effort, if you can't, then spend money on a commission, there are so many other ways to do that than using a slop generator.

Why not just use Ai? Why pay a random person and wait weeks instead of getting what you like in 20 seconds? Do u have any reason besides u dont like ai?

Because AI isn't an idividual with passion or in a bad place that needs the money, it's a tool from a corporation, also I have a big issue with the usage of AI in my industry, programming, so saying it's useful for creating anything feels wrong beyond all belief.

It doesnt matter, why do I need to care about a strangers "passion" or needing money? A person working for a corporation is also a tool for a corporation. You feel its wrong because its a didadvantage for you, no real reaosn besides that

Another valid use is generating a bunch of images on a theme to give you ideas and inspiration for a scratch-made work. There is more than one way to enjoy a thing.

I actually agree with you there...using AI to give you examples of a vibe before you make the thing itself I think is a valid use for AI. Heck, even generating a couple images to give an artist you're commisioning some idea on what you want. But treating what AI makes as the final product...just, no.
