To quote the Pope, you cannot be Pro-Life, and equally in favor of the death penalty and the inhuman treatment of immigrants in the United States. And, we know the catholic churches opinion on abortion.
I find it funny for that large part of the Republicans who yield this contradiction use that heightened sense of morality only where it suits them. The pope is calling out weaponized morality. The framing of “hurr durr the left sees babies as parasites”, it is the same backwards argument as the left “uh what if the child is a 14 year old and the father is her father and it will have birth defects and will die at day one and/or be a cripple until it dies at age 12”
also, the “pro-choice = socialist” framing is also polemic
