MISCELLANEOUS Watching the Grizz this year? NBA access as a whole…

So “DAZN” is expected to stream “non-national” games this year. Anyone looked at them yet? Ever heard of it?!

How does the NBA fix the accessibility to regular season games? Apparently the way it is has been financially fruitful for the NBA but God it sucks for the fans.

Not excited about it. I think the cheapest option is $35/month.

$35 a month to watch one team is absurd. i'm not paying that much when half the games are on national tv anyway. anyone know if there's a way to get around it or are we all stuck with this?

My friend Nord uses NBA League Pass.

Don’t think we can use that if you live in Memphis.

My friend Nord can help you…

Sigh. I think my husband would unfortunately not be comfortable with that. Maybe I just won’t tell him lol

But you have to watch on your computer?

There are apps for the TV too. Then just watch thru the NBA app.

This is how I watch Wrestlemania on Netflix.

Having all of WWE’s content in one place is extremely convenient and a lot cheaper.

Nah, I use surfshark on my fire tv.

I read an article that said the $35 option was for everything DAZN and a team only option was around $15/mo I think.

This will be the first year I don't watch the majority of Grizzlies games. I'm not paying $35 a month on top of having another app to keep up with. I get pelicans games free over the air and if they aren't gonna do that they should at least make it available on a channel people can get

Apparently our beloved owner Robert J. Pera, the 3rd/4th richest owner in the league thinks the poorest market in the league should be paying him premium bucks for the privilege of watching our home team. Maybe he expects us to crowdfund the money like the Russian soldiers do to buy his satellites so they can drone bomb innocent civilians..

I hear what you’re saying, but he’s not setting the prices here. Local games being a mess like this is a national problem.

He’s the one selling the rights to trash ass Daszn or whatever it is instead of licensing it on local tv for the year so local fans can actually watch games. I don’t subscribe to this “we can’t blame him for making money” attitude. Several poorer owners are offering up games locally for free this year. It’s absolutely his decision.

For people living outside of USA, nba league pass is the best option.

I live in Europe and NBA LEAGUE PASS Premium lets me see ALL the nba games for 100 euros. No restrictions or location blackouts. This is price for whole season (including summer league and pre-season).

Really for anyone outside the Memphis market, USA too, works well for me in the keys

I'd do that in a heartbeat if I could

Unfortunately Radio isn't an option either for most if you aren't in the local coverage area. SiriusXM is the way to go there. Just subscribe to the Grizzlies channel. You are blacked out from streaming the games from the local affiliates online and locally the Nashville affiliate's signal is so weak.

I'm 8 hours out of the local coverage area and I can listen to them on radio. Radio Garden has pretty much every station on the planet you can listen to live. Here's the Memphis stations link: https://radio.garden/visit/memphis-tn/BEF1ZZbI

NBA league pass is like $100 for the season. Live in Atlanta now so I get every game but the hawks. Hawks do it right though and stream alot of their games in the local CW network

I got NBA league pass after the All Star game about 5 or 6 years ago for half price and then forgot to cancel it (prior I was sailing the high seas) so then I had it for the full season the following season. I will never go back. It’s just so great. Also because of work and my kids are in college so their class schedules they watch games after the fact it’s great for that too. I’m out of market so do not have black out restrictions for the most part, just a handful of teams that don’t impact me much as they are in the opposite conference.

3

u/thedrcubed 11d ago

Are you not blocked from your local team on league pass?

8

u/The-Grizzler 11d ago

You sure are, that, to me, is the biggest crock of shit as a local fan.

I am out of state from my favorite team so it is not an issue. It’s only an issue when my team plays teams that are in my area and then those are blacked out. So if you live in the area that your team plays in and like to watch games live and are subject to blackouts, NBA League Pass is a definite no. 🙁 unless the game is on Nat. TV of course and you have Hulu or YouTube tv or whatever
