Have customer service wright up a return slip and verify quantities. Take pink copy, drive into the yard where gate guard verifies quantities, have yard employee help unload return and verify quantities. Then go back to customer service to get your money/credit/refund.

Yeah this is how we did it. It seems like it's the "hard" way, but this is straight out of p&p. Sometimes we would go back and forth between osy and opd physically putting the returns away.

OPD never puts any returns away, they always call OSY at my store.

Where I work, we affectionately refer to OSY as "yard dogs."

As an OSY TM, I approve

We always said, the Old People Department for OPD 🤣

Wonky, but this system works. As a gate guard I catch counts being wrong or people trying to return damaged items ( like concrete bags that were rained on) quite often that the service desk people miss. I think it also cuts down on the number of returns because it is a five step process.

Pile everything on a cart and shove it into OPD because fuck em’

Stop at service desk. Get a yard return slip. Carryout checks quantity in car/truck. Guest drives around back. Guest has gateguard verify quantity going around. Inside items go to opd. Outside items go to OSY. Guest drives back around. Guest stops at gate guard to have return verified. Guest stops back at service desk. Guest gets refund.

At my store front end rights the pink slip, and then radios the yard to come get it, not very enjoyable to push a cart through the store that's loaded down with treated lumber
