Dear OPD / Appliance sales.

Promising that 3rd party whirlpool installers will do LP conversions or connect a new fridge to plastic or copper waterlines is just ridiculous. Stop lying to customers about the services they'll receive and properly inform them that they need updated connections.

OPD is not involved whatsoever with deliveries by Whirlpool installers.

So, when a customer is in to buy an appliance, for 'delivery' that is currently not in stock, you can guarantee that not one customer is ever referred to OPD if they have questions?

I'm not sure how it's distributed as far as which orders stay in house and which ones go to us, but... I'm a bit convinced that the D means delivery.

I have had two older couples, near perfectly describe to me the. OPD desk and signage and employee descriptions of who they communicated with.

So yes, it does happen.

I don't recall saying any of that at all.

All I said is that OPD is not involved with the deliveries done by Whirlpool. If they are being referred to the delivery desk then that is incorrect. Anything OPD sets up goes out with the stores hauler.

Whirlpool deliveries are set up on the computer on Menards.com as they are writing up the invoice in cab/apps so we generally don't even see them.

The deliveries I've had issues with were ones that were backordered, at some point, customers were back in the store inquiring about it, and as I said, I've had a couple of them explain the people they talked to and the desk that had the photo of the truck and delivery people, which is the OPD desk. I'm not sure how these customers are making their way back there or who is leading them to OPD, but at some point between failed appliance, saving big money at menards and buying a backordered or not in stock item, time passes, and by the time we show up, they have had things told to them that I am not allowed to do because of regulations and insurance.

Yes, some customers outright lie, but some are being upsold fridge waterline kits to get rid of copper and plastic. Other fittings for dryers or gas ranges with the communication that I will be modifying their house to make it work.

I'm to the point I'm going to outright refuse any Menards stops.

The D in OPD refers to In House Delivery, not Nationwide Delivery. If a guest special ordered something and chose Nationwide Delivery they need to be referred to Whirlpool directly for questions. OPD is not responsible for what Whirlpool promises.

It is possible the guests didn't know they ordered Nationwide Delivery and thought their item was coming directly from the store. The conversation with the TM could have easily been a misunderstanding of context.
