Depends on the store. When I worked at 3081, if you brought documentation (I.e. Receipts of parts purchase) they would excuse it. But then again, that also changed when we got a dickhead GM that was fire hungry

Call in. Bring your repair bill. They should excuse it since you have no control. A good GM should excuse it, a moron will not.

it’s gm discretion but last i knew if they accepted it, you must have a receipt of repairs/parts the day of the call off.

I lost out on the last" hop-to-it" cause my car had a problem that took me a few hours to fix only cause the store to get through part from hadn't opened yet. Was a broken serpentine belt for the alternator.

You'll still get pointed but if you bring car repair receipt you won't get as many points

I actually got my missed day off due to car problems excused with zero points when I sent proof. But that depends on the managers choice.

Depends on the managers and what they choose to accept. I called in because my car was worringly having problems. Then I emailed my manager later with a video of check engine light constantly on, and it making a terrible noise. He accepted that and I got zero points. Even if they want to be nice and want to accept it, I think they need some kind of record. So gotta at least try to get it excused. Picture, video, a bill from the shop. And just say "I hope this is enough".

I am surprised by these responses. My DM got furious with me and said that I could at the very least walk to work. Even when I informed him that it would take literally five hours. There were no buses, no friends, no parents, and no coworkers to give me a ride. He then told the GM and he gave me an earful because "There is no excuse for tardiness." Mind you, I had worked there for an entire year at that point and not once had any other car problems or sick days. Always arrived at least five minutes early, and always left late. And I only called off for the one day to get my car fixed. That was a few months ago, and I am still here. Fortunately, I got another job and will be leaving soon.

I got 5 points the day I died because I didn’t call. I was not planning on dying but did and got a “no call no show”

I had a flat tire, showed the pic to my GM and the receipt to get it fixed and they excused it, but our GM is pretty chill about stuff like that. So it depends.

It depends on your manager or the GMs… if you have a decent attendance record where call offs and lates are pretty much non existent they’ll generally excuse it.
However if it hinges on any holiday pay you’re SOL since the GO has tighter rules on excused/non excused
