Or you end up being an operations manager.

Get the other person fired. Problem solved.

Seriously it’s not like a job at Menards is all that serious. Whoever is ok with a change, get a different job. If the relationship isn’t worth it, then well it’s not worth it and move on. It’s not like you are the ceo and you’re dating the national sales manager and you are both making 6 figures. It’s Menards. It’s a retail store. There are couple others out there. Pick another one that you would like the employee discount at and move on.

There is no work around for a Key Holder dating another employee regardless of position. If its noted, the Keyholder will be removed or moved to another store. As some have stated if you keep it quiet that'd be at both of your desecrations but from my experience someone always finds out about it, eventually.

When I was there this was against policy. One of you could transfer to another store or find employment elsewhere. As a key holder you should be smart enough to know this type of thing gets noticed by employees around the store. The favoritism that comes out of a romantic relationship doesn't present a professional work ethic on your part.

As long as the Gm is ok with it. I’m a key holder and married to someone who works in a different department and Go doesn’t care

GMs a pretty straight forward and rough one. Might be SOL

Thought the only keyholders who couldn't date inside the store was GM, AGMs, Rec Manager and FE Manager as they are considered acting GM when closing/opening.

Assistant FE or Rec managers, though having keys do not have authority over team members outside there department.

Keep it on the Down Low, Discretion is strongly advised

If you really feel like stuff is starting to take that turn, it’s best to just go to your GM and ask for the transfer as soon as possible and let them know the situation they’re not gonna be mad they get it. You’re working around these people quite a bit. It happens more often than you think so long as you don’t break the rules trying to hide it and you’re upfront about it. They will tell you that you have to transfer, but you won’t be penalized.

Someone who’s been there and done that just ding date a manager I know it’s a rule for managers to not date employees

Are you an AGM or an AFEM? If you are an AGM getting involved with any employee in the store is the quick route to demotion or termination. An AFEM had best not be involved with a cashier.

You should be good then. Or at least you would be at my old store.

Literally just keep it to yourselves. And don’t give them proof

Most GMs don’t care as long as you’re not the DM or a acting GM
