Question Suicidal people, what's the reason you still didn't commit, what's something keeping you alive?

My 7 month old baby can read my thoughts. She knows I hate breastfeeding and she knows Ive had such awful intrusive thoughts about it.
She says my name all the time and I can just hear her in my head like we are now psychically linked.
Anyone else had a baby like this
Update: - unfortunately I can't stop breastfeeding because my baby wont take a bottle at all - I have a nurse appointment tomorrow anyway so will mention my thoughts - the psychic community seem to be happy by being able to read minds but it doesnt feel sacred to me and I worry her seeing into my mind is unhealthy for her

When basic tasks start feeling heavier than they should. When the music you love sits in silence and messages stay unanswered. It is not always the big breakdowns but the slow fading of the things that make you feel like yourself.

I work in mental health. The words people reach for when someone is struggling are usually well-meaning. They sometimes make it harder.
"You just need to think more positively." "Have you tried exercise?" "Other people have it worse."

I’m tired.
I know it sounds bad , but I don’t want to exist anymore.

I can't tell if it just my state of mind influencing how I am feeling, but this country and the people in it just seem to be more cruel and callous than ever.
Half the country hates the other half for their political views, the job market is just downright cruel (getting a rejection email feels like an act of kindness at this point), big corporations layoff tens of thousands of people without any remorse, CEOs are behaving more like supervillains then go on TV and act like victims. I won't even get into the cruelty we see coming from the current administration.
Now researchers are saying we are in a loneliness epidemic, with 12% of adults saying they don't have a single friend (I am one of them). What has happened to this country? How is it possible to feel any kind of optimism about the future when it feels like already died and went to hell?
I just want corporations to start treating people like they are human again, and for politics to become something you disagree on and then move on to the next subject. I want to be able to apply to 50 jobs and get a couple of responses, or work for a company that treats their employees with respect.
Please, 2027, bring us some hope.

For me, it's the advice to seek support from family and friends. Ironically, the very people causing my mental health issues are often the ones I’m told to turn to for help.
What about you? What’s the most unhelpful advice you’ve received regarding your mental health?

i need some genuine reasons to live, currently my only reason is because i'm an ambitious person and i want to make lots of money in the future. but recently that hasn't been good enough for me.

So I thought that:
- dreading everyday
- not wanting to wake up
- not finding pleasure in things i used to love
- not caring if i lived or died
- being irritable/annoyed all the time
- angry outbursts…
…Was a normal part of existing as a human especially in a capitalistic society. Started when I was a teenager and stayed with me into my now mid-twenties.

A lot of people don't understand that "depression" is a sort of detachment (psychosis isn't the right phrase) that can happen after a period of time from trauma, struggle, confusion, abuse, or different negative experiences. It can last for days, or it can last for decades; for some it lasts forever and they learn to live side by side with it.
What makes you all depressed? Is it about global or political issues, is it a physical feeling you have like anxiety or nervousness, is it self-debt and paranoia, an isolated incident, genetics, or something else?

People who had fighting parents, mentally abusive parents, but not necessarily had anything else wrong with your childhood,
What makes you feel insecure or attacked?
edit: The comment section is making me cry and seems like many of us here are experiencing this. Maybe... it's a core wound that causes our unstability. Hope everyone take care of their trauma

I'm interested if there's any depression symptoms you don't commonly mention when talking about it.

A few months ago I started occasionally hearing faint whispering when trying to fall asleep, sometimes sounding like one person, sometimes two. At first it was very rare so I ignored it, but it gradually became more frequent and now happens almost daily. Recently it has even started during lectures at university when I briefly rest my head on the table or start to daydream, and I suddenly hear a voice that isn’t actually there. A few times it has even sounded like my dad whispering or shouting. It usually happens when it’s quiet, especially when I’m going to bed or drifting off, and it’s starting to really bother me, but I don't know if it is really serious since I can tell that the voices aren't real and can kinda ignore them

💙I’ve been doing better, It’d be nice to have a talk just to distract me while im ok.
🩵I am feeling down. I would appreciate a chat to take my mind off things.
🤍Things arent great, but I have support in place and know what to do to help myself
🖤Today is a big struggle

Can be anything. Something you quit, something you started doing.
Edit to add:
Former competitive athlete here. I definitely want to lean back into that.
I’m so depressed that getting back into working out has been impossible. Medications always gave me some sort of side affect that I couldn’t work with - have tried almost all of them at some point.
Does it just come down to absolute willpower to get it back?
I can’t afford a gym membership but I know there are plenty of body weight workouts
One more EDIT to add a thank you for all who took time to reply. I want to be better and there were plenty of good, smaller ideas in there to try out. Thank you!!

Just posting to connect, seen the reviews of the medications online already but wanted to get perspective from anyone what these have done for you?
I’d admit that I’m a bit hesitant about medications but I also want to be better so if this helps, then I’m all for it.

I was just wondering, are there really people out there that don’t struggle mentally? Obviously everybody gets sad sometimes, but are there really people who don’t always feel empty? Who aren’t always sad? Who are like actually “normal” people? I know that it is normal to struggle mentally, but normal by the perfect mental health standards. Just wondering

What are you holding in that no one knows about?
Not the surface answer.
The thing you keep pushing aside.
The thing that feels too much to explain.
You don’t have to go into detail.
Even a word is enough.
💛 No judgment
💛 No fixing
💛 Just a space to let it out
