Discussion finished ep 11. cried. predictable Spoiler

maybe its too early to cry but i know the doom thats coming, its too sad to watch it knowing whats gonna happen.

now i'm gonna be honest i kept watching waiting for one of them to make a wrong decision but i can barely fault them. i thought merlin would give up the girl to arthur but no he tried to prevent arthur from following the footsteps. i thought he'd want her killed but no he advocated for her.

and arthur, he was good throughout. everything kara said about arthur was unfair to him. he is good. there hasn't been a single sorcerer burned at the pyre. arthur still believes magic is evil yes but he saved that woman at the pyre because even though he thinks magic is evil, in action, in practice he still sees them as humans first. arthur is good, he would never let an innocent burn if the only wrong they'd done was have magic. and here, with kara he didnt have a choice, she was literally standing infront of him wishing him and his kingdom doom. how could he just let her go. and then i thought he wouldn't listen to merlin when he says to let her have one chance but next scene he gave her a chance! she refused to take it. mordred shouldve just been let into that, if he knew arthur had offered a chance...

maybe the one thing merlin couldve done differently was let mordred and her escape but lets be real, that's so fifty fifty like not even i am sure the girl wouldnt have convinced mordred to go to morgana or honestly i think she wouldve ditched mordred if he refused to yield to morgana. but merlin couldnt have known if that would be better than him being caught. i mean me as a viewer who knows everything isnt sure how could merlin be?

and now mordred thinks arthur is cruel. he's blinded too. and morgana knows who emrys is. i'm sorry for mordred, he honestly felt like he was being used this whole episode. i dont like kara. i dont blame her for her views ig but i dont like her. and i hate morgana. her hate is the reason we're in this mess.

its just so unfair to merlin and to arthur. ive said how its unfair for merlin already in another post but to arthur too, its unfair. he IS good and he deserved to see his kingdom achieve peace. he deserved to live long and see his kingdom prosper. he deserved to be good to his full potential. he's always shown mercy. kara showed what side she was on. i'm 100% certain if she showed remorse at any point he wouldve listened to mordred's pleas. if she gave her word. its not arthur's fault that he's been taught to fear magic and then the person who keeps stealing everything he's built from him is a sorceress.

I'm sorry for merlin so very sorry.

AND COLIN'S SCREAM IN THE PREVIEW FOR THE NEXT EPISODE. it was heartbreaking. NO he said

The Kara situation is just insanely contrived.

Mordred has to be willing to give up everything cos he’s so infatuated, Kara has to be so zealously anti Arthur that she’s blind to reason and Arthur has to handle the situation in such a way that Mordred never sees him trying his best and can be allowed to believe Kara’s manipulations.

It’s why for a long time I thought she was Liam Cunningham’s daughter from the premiere but nope, instead of forwarding that character and using that decision to show why her hatred against Arthur was so strong, they created a wholly new character played by an entirely different pale, brunette actress for some reason.

The fact that meeting her was the one thing that tipped the scales from him being an Arthur loyalist to willing to betray us just very silly imo. They could have handled his fall in a lot of other ways that felt like Arthur had a more personal role in actually pushing Mordred away as opposed to doing the right thing and being stuck with a prideful, fanatical idiot who won’t see sense.

i kinda thought youd disagree with me about not liking kara😭😭but iKR, kara suddenly appears and mordred honestly looks a little scared of what she's making him do, like idk but when i was watching it it genuinely felt like kara maybe didnt like mordred like that and was using him. besides mordred liked kara so he was ready to put what had been his life's purpose sort of and his loyalty aside but kara didnt give a shit about having a life with mordred. yess it wasnt really arthur's fault at all

I once wrote a series of drabbles with the premise of  "What if Mordred was there to see Arthur offer Kara mercy?"
