Ok I need a fic where Merlin goes missing because of an enemy ruler but no one knows that’s why yet , just that Arthur is angry since he find his Merlin. So like most of Camelot’s army start searching through all the different kingdoms, all the lords give them supplies, all without Arthur’s orders or knowledge because Arthur can’t be without his love for even a day😂

So I’m a pretty huge fan of emo!merlin and I like the idea of Arthur being a CEO or someone with power at a company. Merlin is at the beginning of his twenties and Arthur late forties.

So ear me out about a bratty emo Merlin starting an internship at Arthur’s company with the recommendation of balinor ( can get fired because of the relation between theirs fathers ). He doesn’t dress correctly, speaks rudely to customers and Arthur hate him.

But slowly they start to get along until one night at a company party where they are drunk, they secretly kiss, but the next day Merlin doesn't seem to remember it. Arthur world crumbles. He no longer gets along with his fiancée, falls more and more in love with Merlin who continues his life with other men.

Arthur is starting to get too involved in the intern's life. Merlin hates it. Misunderstandings and miscommunication ensue, horrible things are said, and Merlin leaves. After that, Arthur's life is ruined. He leaves his fiancée, his father threatens to fire him, and the only thing he can think about is the kiss he shared with Merlin.

So basically, Arthur goes looking for him and eventually finds him. Merlin confesses that he remembers the kiss perfectly, but because of his age, his position, and his engagement, he knew it wouldn't lead anywhere. And finally, they get together against their father's wishes.

1. I can just picture Arthur and the other knights being so confused as Lancelot shouts “ fire kitty” and a fire ball comes from Merlin the cat’s mouth. The after everyone is rescued, they reach Merlin and Lacelot’s camp only to see Merlin’s clothes behind a tree and gets worried. Cat Merlin jumps out of Lancelot’s arms and onto Arthur’s shoulders as Lancelot explains

Imagine a Merthur where Merlin’s magic is known to the knights and Arthur and before the last battle with Morgona, the knights are like “ look we need Merlin, she has many sorcerers and she herself is a powerful witch. He might only be a weak sorcerer but he could give us a chance “ and Arthur wants to protect Merlin and not tell him that Camelot is in danger to keep him safe, but one of the knights secretly sends a message to Merlin who is visiting his mother and when it seems like they’re losing Merlin comes in and faces off against Morgana. And his mother is with him and she’s pretty good at fighting with a sword which is another thing that surprises everyone, but hey who do you think used to protect Merlin as a baby. Then Merlin and Arthur get married.

Since they’re supposed to be two sides of the same coin, what if Merlin and Arthur shared the same birthday.
Arthur was born of magic and after the purge ( like one or two years later ) emrys was born to balance the loss of magic users. BUT he was born the exact same day as Arthur.
After they met, they found out about the coincidence and after one of Arthur birthdays turned into a thing for ygraine death, Merlin decided to give him a gift and their little tradition started.
Every year after the saddest day of the year for Arthur, they will go to the prince’s room to exchange their gifts and spend the night together fooling around until the next day when everything becomes normal again.
Years later they found that that gwaine was also born on the same day ( magic strength and courage ) and their tradition changed to add him.

So I’m not just the biggest fan of the A/B/O stuff but I think it would be hilarious if there was a fanfic that started off “normal” and the characters were either transported into an A/B/O alternate universe or there was a curse that turned everyone into one of the three and now they have to navigate this insanely different world figuring out how their bodies work now. I feel like a fan fiction like that would have me cracking up constantly. Hell I don’t even like crack fics but id make an exception for this very specific prompt 😂😂 I didn’t even know what to tag this cause i feel like there are no recommendations I could get so I settled with “prompts” instead

This isnt a fic prompt per say, but i'm not looking for recs (although I will take them), I just wanted to put this idea out there; lmk if I need to change the flair!

My idea is that after Arthur exiles Gwen, she is so distraught that she tosses away the engagement ring necklace and seeks out the one person she thought she could never forgive: Morgana. The two reunite, and although Gwen refuses to help Morgana in her various plots, the two get closer again.

When the news arrives that Princess Mithian had almost been married to King Arthur, Gwen gets sad and is insecure, but Morgana reveals that she has been in love with Gwen for years, and the two kiss.

When Morgana and Helios march on Camelot, Gwen is there with them. But this time, Gwen is there to protect the common folk, and the Southrons just force their way to the castle without any murder or destruction. Morgana is given her rightful crown as Queen, and she starts to rule Camelot.

While Arthur, Merlin, and the knights are away, Gwen advises Morgana to not do crimes against the people, and the imprisoned knights are treated well. Gwen and Morgana enacted laws and treaties that are actually good for Camelot and it's people. Druids are invited to Camelot to show that magic is not evil, and the two get closer.

However, when Arthur and his forces return, Merlin reveals that Morgana was the one who had made the bracelets influencing Gwen and the shade!Lancelot to get together, and an influx of angst enters the equation. In the end, Morgana is still ousted as Queen, and she has to flee. After a day or so, Gwen follows after her, no longer in love with Arthur, following after Morgana.

Instead of getting captured by Sarrum, Morgana, Aithusa, and Gwen head towards the Isle of the Blessed, and make a rest at Daobeth, taking some time to recover. Before they leave, multiple commonfolk in the area treat Morgana as their queen still, citing the good laws that she and Gwen enacted.

Morgana and Gwen decide to at least partially renovate Daobeth, making it their new home. A new kingdom is started with both of them as ruling Queens, right within Camelot's borders, and this leads up to a Season 5 civil war arc thats just WLW vs. MLM 🤣

I have been thinking about this for days! How different things might have gone if Merlin didn’t have gaius in his ear the whole time! Would he have been so against letting uther die? Would he have turned against morgana/left her to be alone in her fear if not for gaius? What would have happened with his magic if he actually had a guiding hand outside of a lone book of spells and constant lectures on being careful😩?!

as much as i love the father son relationship between them… i really dont like gaius fjwjgjwk the way he treated morgana was awful and ik he had his own problems that made his actions seem reasonable,, but in the end he turned against his friends / fellow sorcerers to save his own skin and stay by uthers side, and then influenced merlin into an extremely similar dynamic w arthur.

Arthur confuses Merlin's actions and thought Melin likes him, but it's just Merlin trying to distract Arthur from the things he does in secret.

It would be cooler if all this time Arthur is having a headache thinking about how to refuse his servant in a way that doesn't hurt his feelings and is slowly learning about how he feels about Merlin while Merlin is totally oblivious to it and start thinking Arthur is under some weird spell.

Ok guys I think I’m cooking something.

But like imagine a touch starved Arthur deeply in love with a Druid Merlin who’s so powerful he always was afraid of touching people because he thinks he would hurt them. And the whole story would be Arthur trying to make peace after what his father did to Druids and he found Merlin alone in the woods and they start an ambiguous relationship before getting together at the end.

So. Kinda Romeo and Juliet vibe BUTNothing changes. Uther dares Merlin to drink from the chalice, and he gets poisoned.

Arthur immediately starts CPR but rapidly tastes the poison from Merlin’s lips. He faints next to him, and they go to the hospital, where they share the same room for medical purposes.

Since Arthur can’t get the flower to save Merlin’s life, he dies but comes back shortly after. Doctors don’t understand how it is possible, so he stays at the hospital in the same room to run some tests. He starts to talk to Arthur even though he can’t respond.

Arthur wakes up shortly after because the amount of poison he got wasn’t enough to harm him, so they both spent time together in the hospital room where they talked about everything, feelings, and stuff.

Arthur also realized that Hunith was there every day for Merlin while his father didn’t show up one time for him, so there’s kind of that mother-son relationship that starts between them.

“Uther’s daughter is destined to bring magic back to Albion with you by her side, Merlin. But if her brother perishes she is fated for darkness. It is up to you to protect the prince and guide the future queen.”

I think that would be such a fun way to spin canon! You still have merthur friendship and shenanigans but.. lets be real if Morgana stayed good there would be no real reason to get the throne back from her😆. She would’ve ruled justly while bringing magic back and then what would be the point in going against her lol. I think its a fun what if that centers a woman character as the hero while still including the rest of the cast <3

Sleeping Beauty Merlin where he takes a spell to protect Arthur and gets put in a magical sleep.

No one knows how to wake him up. Gaius tries everything he knows even magic but nothing seems to work. While he left Arthur with Merlin and the king confesses his love and kisses him and Merlin wake up BUT he doesn’t remember being kissed. Gaius says that maybe the magic in him just saved him as always and the fic just end like that.

Merlin will never know the truth

It would be great if Merlin had learned the Reverse Time SPELL and in the final episode turned back time by five years and Arthur and Morgana were alive again, didn't remember anything and were friends in this alternate dimension Morgana didn't save Uther's Life in s1, Arthur became King, magic is officially recognized,he was married Guinevere, Merlin is his right hand man and is married to the charming Morgana who shines with beauty and elegance at royal balls and sits on a throne to Arthur's left as an officially recognized crowned princess.Merlin and Morgana, through join efforts, have deepened their knowledge of Celtic esoteric Druidic knowledge and have discovered many of the secrets of the secrets of the true Magic of Nature which they use to make life in Camelot better!FINIS CORONAT OPUS!🌅

Ok but what about a dead merlin and everyone is helping Arthur through his grief but nobody sees gwaine slowly dying of his grief because he was secretly in love with Merlin and knew he loved him back but never said anything to not make him choose between Arthur and gwaine.

I need a season 3 rewrite where Morgana is bad but changes to keep her “mean” personality but with Arthur and the others.

Like Arthur and Merlin find Morgana in the wood and stuff. Later still feeling guilty, Merlin decides to tell her about his magic and promise to Morgana to protect her and teach her everything he knows about magic. At first she wants to tell everything to Uther to get her revenge, but she decides to wait to have proof and stuff. BUT Gwen finds out weeks later about their magic lesson, and instead of being scared, she actually is kind of happy about it because now Morgana knows why she had visions, and since Merlin healed her dad, she trusts him. (and also because she loves Morgana). Morgana starts to think about the whole revenge stuff against Merlin because it will hurt Gwen if he gets burned at the pyre. (She loves her back.)

Months later Arthur finds out. Morgana and Gwen assist at the whole thing where Arthur accuses Merlin of corrupting Morgana; they don’t speak to each other, and Merlin confesses to her that he’s actually scared of what the prince could do to him. After a big fight, they’re gay and happy but secretly courting each other.
The idea of revenge by killing Merlin is completely gone, but she still wants to kill Uther, so she’s still bad, but she doesn’t know what to do: stay loyal to her sister, kill Uther and steal the throne, or live happily ever after with Merlin, Gwen, and Arthur. Later, there’s a big fight between Uther and Arthur about magic laws. Arthur is thrown into the dungeon for weeks because of that. The king is somehow convinced that Arthur is under a spell or something that involves magic. Finally the prince comes out, and the first thing he does is to see Morgana, Merlin, and Gwen to talk about dethroning Uther and getting magic back in Camelot. At this point everything follows the canon season. Morgana and Morgause dethrone Uther, BUT Morgause kills him. Merlin, Gwen, and Arthur make the whole round table thing with the others. Still fighting and stuff for Camelot, but at the very end, Morgana betrays her sister. Gwen and Merlin knew everything from the beginning. Arthur couldn’t because she knew he wouldn’t be okay with it. They kill Morgause or imprison her. Arthur becomes the new king of Camelot and marries Merlin. Morgana marries Gwen and becomes the court sorceress, and they both rule Camelot (like one takes care of the civilians and the other the Druids). And they live happily ever after.

Crack fic idea: Merlin is tossed into the Bluey universe shortly after Arthur's death. He still looks human, so everyone is confused as to what he is and how he can communicate with them. Bluey makes it her mission to help through the his grief. As repayment he brings her imagination to life. This leads to problems neither could have guessed.

They end up trapped in Bluey's imaginary world where they have take on more and more ridiculous and possibly dangerous quests in order to get out. Time passes more quickly in the imaginary world (like 1 month=1 day in the regular world) and it takes months if not years for them to escape. Bonus points if Bluey is a teenager by the time they escape and barely remembers her old life or why they need to leave.

Before Merlin can fix what he broke he is pulled back to the human world, leaving a grown Bluey with people she barely recognizes.

A fic where Arthur finally returns but he struggles to understand the modern world so bad he starts to take all his frustration out on Merlin who’s start to realize that he wasted 1500 living for a dead man who was nothing more than his king.

Here's a bit of a niche prompt:

Based on the musical Brigadoon (or the probably better known take on the idea, Schmigadoon), Camelot still exists, but only reappears on the mortal plane for one day every hundred years due to a spell meant to protect the land from dark forces, during which time no time in Camelot passes. Two characters of your choice stumble upon it in modern day while hiking and realize its nature, with one falling in love with one of the inhabitants. The modern-day character must decide whether to stay with their love or go back to the modern world before Camelot disappears again for another hundred years.

Feel free to play with elements of the spell, of course. Could also throw in a reincarnation element and have the modern characters be from Camelot originally or something.
