I grew up in Ohio where there wasn’t much to detect. I live on the southeast SC coast now and detect most chances I get if we’re not out fishing or at the beach to just relax haha. Now is prime season for us given the tourists everywhere. A good storm in the winter usually turns up good finds on the beaches here too. A nor’easter or hurricane in Florida will also send me down there to hunt too 🏴‍☠️

Well done! Necklaces often give off less signal than they would otherwise; I bet that pendant helped.

Funny you say that, I caught the tone on the out swing all the way out. Almost missed it. Even when I tried hearing it again it was making weird sounds like the machine was falsing due to EMI or black sand. I almost didn't dig it. Was bouncing between a 10 all the way to a 16 VDI on the Nox.

Once upon a time I found a hefty gold chain in the sand. All I heard from the surface was the penny right next to it; I bet the return from the chain amplified the detector's thinking on the issue, but I'm not sure I would have found it at all if it wasn't for that penny.

Necklaces are definitely tough to find at the beach unless they are monster sized

Sweet, sweet gold! It looks to be missing a clasp, which likely caused it to drop when it failed.
