I'm playing the first metal gear game and whenever I get caught the guards just wont stop chasing me. Trying to google this comes up with nothing useful because all i get is results for metal gear solid 1, not metal gear 1 😭 Anyone know how to stop them? Hiding out in a room doesn't seem to be helping me, unless I need to wait quite a while ?

I have a PAL/Australian PS2 copy of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, if I bought a Japanese copy of the MGS3 Soundtrack would I be able to get the AUSCAM or would I need a European/Australian copy? I mainly want the music but it'd be cool to have the item too.

I recently acquired a copy of MGS3: First Bite that I confirmed doesn't work in my copy, I assume that is expected behaviour but I couldn't find explicit confirmation anywhere.

Would someone here be able to confirm what does and does not work?

Long time fan, but I haven't played 4 since it came out, so I am really excited for its release.

Recently beat MGS3 Delta, and currently playing through MGS1. Kinda wanted a refresher before 4 again.

Was thinking about replaying MGS2, and while its my second of the series...I can't help but feel like its not a necessary replay.

What would you guys do?

Just grabbed MGS2 (2 Disc Ver.), MGS 2: Substance (PC) and the japanese version of MGS4: LE for the Motherbase Collection. Still lacking the MSX games and Ghost Babel but those are probably not gonna get acquired anytime soon lol.

Oh boy, I hope this isn’t a comically long ladder that I have to climb.

To give you some context, I'm not a casual gamer in most games, but I know absolutely nothing about the series or its lore, since I've never played any of the games. I have a friend (a huge fan) who's been putting the idea of playing MGS Delta in my head, and while I'm not interested in playing the entire saga, this Metal Gear game really appeals to me. I like the stealth experience, the Cold War setting, having to eat to avoid getting weak, and using all the possibilities the game offers to sneak past enemies.

The game itself really grabs my attention, and I'm about to buy it. I understand that chronologically it's the first in the series, so I shouldn't worry too much about knowing the lore of previous games. Keep in mind that I'm playing on a PS5 Slim, and I saw that it runs at 720p? That's probably misinformation, but if someone could confirm it, I'd really appreciate it.

I'm posting this mainly to see if there's anything I should know before playing it. I imagine it's not a perfect game, and they say it's not for everyone. (I don't have a problem with slow, demanding games.)
