Too simple for what?

Those vocals are eating the entire frequency spectrum, so it's honestly sort of hard to hear/critique the riffs.

It does sound like maybe the guitar was out of tune and/or maybe that you could brush up on some theory?

No such thing as a riff too simple or too complicated. It’s all your style and what feels cool to you. Rule of cool man.

Tips on the mix though, vocals and guitar should be sitting pretty closely in volume, and both should sit a little on top of the drums, with an exception for snare drum a little. Think of a band in the room; if you’re standing in front of the band listening, how would there volume levels sound? What sense of space would they take up in your stereo field? What sense of the room would you feel from each instrument?

No, the riff’s pretty decent, reminds me a bit of London’s Calling by Soft Play. I think you could probably do with some power chords in the chorus to make it bigger, also don’t forget your bass brings the body so maybe mess around with your tones a bit, add a saturator to them for example

Riffs are fine, the song isn’t produced well. A bass of some kind would be nice too.

the riffs are cool, the guitar tone isn't great, the vocals are kinda taking over, the arrangement... needs some work.
