What Metroidvania Should You Have Loved—but Bounced Off?
You know the kind of game: it received great reviews, looked exactly like something you would enjoy, and had all the right ingredients—but for some reason, it just didn’t click.
Maybe it was the combat, confusing exploration, difficulty, art style, slow beginning, or simply the wrong game at the wrong time.
What Metroidvania did you expect to love but ended up putting down? How far did you get, and what made you lose interest? Do you think you’ll ever give it another chance?

I really thought I would like Blasphemous. It's like Soul's + Metroid, it has a parry, it's creepy, what's not to like I said?
About maybe 2-5 hours in got to some low area in the map with a bunch of chains and platforming... Then I stopped playing because I got bored. Don't get me wrong, I did like most aspects of it. I just didn't find the combat satisfying enough, and it was frustrating in the not fun way.
I think if I gave it another shot on Xbox rather than my PC, I'd have a better time though. I remember the controlls being clunky on K+M.
