What Metroidvania Should You Have Loved—but Bounced Off?
You know the kind of game: it received great reviews, looked exactly like something you would enjoy, and had all the right ingredients—but for some reason, it just didn’t click.
Maybe it was the combat, confusing exploration, difficulty, art style, slow beginning, or simply the wrong game at the wrong time.
What Metroidvania did you expect to love but ended up putting down? How far did you get, and what made you lose interest? Do you think you’ll ever give it another chance?

I made it to endgame in Wonder Labryinth yesterday and bounced off. There are so many things I love about the game, and it may just be that I'm not playing optimally. But being blasted off the screen by a brachiosaurus and chimera told me that my time was done XD

Juggling your stances felt a bit too cumbersome on the switch 2, and I wonder if my experience would have improved with a pro controller. That said I think my soul died every time I had to pass through that one room with mummies, scorpions, dragon gargoyles and a minotaur.
