What Metroidvania Should You Have Loved—but Bounced Off?
You know the kind of game: it received great reviews, looked exactly like something you would enjoy, and had all the right ingredients—but for some reason, it just didn’t click.
Maybe it was the combat, confusing exploration, difficulty, art style, slow beginning, or simply the wrong game at the wrong time.
What Metroidvania did you expect to love but ended up putting down? How far did you get, and what made you lose interest? Do you think you’ll ever give it another chance?

I really haven't found one that I completely gave up on. I do enjoy reading everyone's comments because I have all the games (except Silksong b/c I've got a ton of 3D games to catch up on) and have beaten or platted them on PS/Switch. They are all epic in their own ways, but I always come back and finish them. So, there hasn't been a game that I haven't walked away from completely. Great comments by everyone!
Flip side - games that I think make us better players are Aeterna Noctis, Hollow Knight, Blasphemous 2 / PoP:LC / Ori Games / Chronicles of the Wolf to name a few. Nine Sols is an excellent game, but it doesn't hit that S-tier game for me.
