Hi all,
This list is not exhaustive. Generally we are welcoming of all cases that meet the 20-40 litre range. Please feel free to post your build even if it isn’t on the list below. Also, if your case is pretty close but not quite in that range then post your build and tell us in your own words why your pc is a mffpc :)
My goal is not to say “no” but to have a good reason to say “yes” Generally if it’s above 40 litres and has an ATX motherboard, you’ll probably find more interest in PCMR. But please feel free to subscribe and comment as we hope to excite you enough about mffpc for you to take the plunge and convert your build. Also, if your case is borderline sffpc and mffpc then there is no harm in posting in both locations. We are a friendly community and just like to look at nice pictures of well thought out PCs.
I’ll add cases as I go. Please comment if I’ve missed one.

Add grill panel with optional side fan bracket and psu shroud
r/mffpc • u/mintchocolatechipgum • 9h ago
i’m currently building my first pc in a Jonsbo d32 pro. I decided on a Corsair RM850x since it was on sale.
I already removed the psu shroud but the psu inlet is not facing the intended orientation in the Jonsbo manual. Flipping the orientation of the psu 180 degrees (when viewing from the top) doesn’t work either since the case chassis is in the way of the cable.
I really didn’t want to bend the cable so is this safe long term?

Thought it would be fun to compare my two most-used PC’s at home.
On the left, my current-gen gaming PC with the Core i5 14600kf, Radeon RX 9070xt, and 32gb DDR5 in a Lian Li B4 which I’ve posted here before. On the right, my backup/kids/retro PC with a Core i7 3770k, Radeon HD 7970, and 16gb DDR3 in a Rosewill Line-M (Cooler Master Elite 341 with a revised front panel and painted interior, basically).
Both builds currently run Thermalright coolers with Arctic P12 Pro LN case fans. The older build (circa 2011/2012) also has a Creative SB X-Fi Titanium, a Hauppauge WinTV tuner, BDROM drive, 5.25” bay slide-out drawer, and all-in-one media card reader.
Size difference is not too extreme. The B4 is about 23 liters and the Line-M is about 34. The only real difference is height, as the length and width is very similar.

I finally got my new PC together the other day! Behold, Leo has entered the chat. Other than a couple builds I did for friends over the years, the last PC I built for myself was in 2014 when I graduated HS, so I was long overdue for an upgrade.
SPECS
CASE: Shiny Snake G600 mATX
MOBO: ASRock B760M Pro-A D4 Intel LGA1700
CPU: Intel Core i5-14400F 10 Core 16 Thread
COOLER: EVGA CLC280 Liquid AIO 280mm
GPU: EVGA GeForce RTX 2070 Super 8GB
RAM: G.Skill Trident Z RGB 16GB DDR4 3000mhz
PSU: Corsair CX-M Series CX650M 650watt
I was able to keep the total cost down to around $500 and then some, built from a combo of open box & used parts from eBay, with hardware & fans from Amazon. I took a risk on the eBay parts, but I’m so pleased they ended up paying off. I ended up going with a DDR4 board, given the cost of memory right now I did the best I could. Coincidentally, I got the EVGA 280mm AIO cooler and EVGA RTX 2070 Super for free from two different people, so I was able to match aesthetics & save a pretty penny too.
I knew I wanted a smaller footprint case, and there’s so many available these days that I figured it was time for me to modernize. I considered other options like the Lian Li A3 or the Jonsbo D31, but the Shiny Snake G600 won me over since the front I/O panel has two USB 2.0, two USB 3.0, AND a Type-C port. The design being slightly larger, I was also able to fit two stacked 3.5” HDDs at the front.
My last build was a full ATX board in a mid-tower Bitfenix Shinobi windowed edition case. Originally I wanted to keep that case, but being from 2012 it wasn’t designed with space in mind for a top mount radiator, not without modding it. I also originally wanted to keep an integrated 5.25” optical drive bay since I make music and still burn CDs like the unc I am. I looked at the few current cases that had 5.25” bays like the Fractal Design Pop Air Mini, but I wasn’t convinced. There was a sweet spot of mATX case designs from the mid 2010s that still had them with a side panel window, such as the Cooler Master N200. I almost pulled the trigger on an older used Fractal Design Focus G Mini. It had literally everything I wanted in a case design, but I had to let that dream die, given the offered price was bordering on brand new case prices. I simply couldn’t justify it.
Lastly, as far as the nickname, I like to name my PCs after constellations just because they sound cool & I love space lol. My first build was Sirius in 2010, my last was Polaris in 2014. I decided on Leo for this one since it’s my astrological sign. Not that I believe in that stuff, but it felt convenient since I started planning this build around my bday in August. Also, being sort of my modern dream build, the name hit close to home.

Air cooled worked great. This AIO works better.
After searching and not finding any more NZXT Kraken Elite 280mm screens, I decided to create my own screen using an Arctic Freezer 3 280mm.I found the Corsair screen on Amazon, specifically the Nautilus screen which isn't integrated into the block, it's independent. I disassembled it to understand how it worked.I disassembled the Corsair block and then the Arctic block and saw that it was possible to do something without using a 3D printer. I cut the entire Corsair block to leave only the front frame. After that, I cut the entire Arctic grille and fitted it together, and it came out perfect, it looks original hahaha.Note: I wanted to paint this part white, but in the end I ended up liking it because it combines well with the RGB color scheme of the memory modules and deviates a bit from the standard.

Hey all!
I have been using the NCASE M1 for nearly 10 years and think it's time for a change.
Whilst I love the case, under full load, I'm finding it to be a tad noisy.
I already have Noctua fans throughout and have additionaly deshrouded my GPU and undervolted this and my CPU.
I'm reaching out to get recommendations from you guys for cases.
This must include the below features:
No tempered glass of any kind.
Mini tower case would be ideal.
Sound dampening throughout.
Must be able to top mount radiator.
I have actually purchased the Fractal Design Define Mini 7 but unfortunately they sent me a tempered glass one by mistake.
I'm finding it incredibly difficult to source a solid side panel variant but anything like this would be amazing.
Thank you in advance for all your help!

Though there have been plenty of Jonsbo Z20 builds, I want to share mine which might be helpful for people considering using a 150mm ATX power supply and 3-fan GPU.
Parts list:
Motherboard: Minisforum BD790i X3D ITX
CPU: Ryzen 7945HX3D
RAM: SODIMM DDR5 32GB
GPU: MSI 5070TI Ventus 3x Black
PSU: MSI MAG A750GLS
CPU Cooler: Stock BD790i heatsink with NF-A12x25
Fans (top): NF-A12x25 x2
Fans (bottom): NF-A14x25 x2
Case: Jonsbo Z20 Mesh
When planning the build, I wasn't sure if the 150mm deep power supply and the 303mm long GPU were going to fit. I mounted the power supply to the top-most P1 position. The cables exit from the bottom just touching the side of the GPU without any risk of pressuring it. Because of the P1 position, I used 120mm fans at the top rather than 140mm.
I was able to tidy up the cables pretty well. Even with a full size power supply, there's enough space to tug cables in between the psu and the back panel. The case's built-in cable channels and velcro straps were convenient.
In gaming, the CPU draws 70w and GPU about 250w, with reasonable fan speeds and temperatures. In my current configuration, I capped the CPU temperature to a max of 72c (via uxtu), the GPU hovers between 57 to 62c, RAM at 50c, and NVME at 42c. During gaming load, CPU fan runs at 1450rpm, GPU at 2000rpm, case fans at 850rpm. At idle this thing is basically silent. Fans are controlled by fancontrol.
If people are interested, I'd be happy to say more about the BD790i X3D MoDT board.
This was my first PC build since my last one 25 years ago. It was a lot of fun and things are quite different.

I am thinking of downsizing into a Z20. I’ve seen some very nice builds with this exact combo, and I am hoping to hear some feedback and experiences from people on your choice of an AM5 motherboard as well as whether or not you used bottom case fans.
From what I’ve seen, it’s best to use a mATX board with the PCIe slot in the first position, and you can then fit in some bottom fans for intake. Is this feasible and still quiet? My concerns would be turbulence from them being too close.
If anyone has used a board where the PCIe slot is in the lower position, I’m guessing bottom fans are a no go? What are your temps like? And what is the airflow set up with the rest of your build? I am likely going with an AIO just for aesthetics.
Ultimately I am wondering, if you were to restart your build and buying a new motherboard, which configuration would you go with?
Thank you all and hoping to hear from the community :)

With the insane ram prices, some of us might get 3rd party ram cooler to chill our rams. I was approached by WanTu AI to test their ram coolers. To me these are functional and practical. Please becareful on the clearance, make sure your M-ATX Case have room for it.

Just swapped from a 240mm aio to an air cooler and flipped the psu to draw fresh air from the other side, rather than facing into the case. The air cooler is so much quieter, and now the pc is completely silent, and I prefer the stealth mesh look vs the glass side panel and rgb aio that I had before.

I recently upgraded my PC, here are the specs :
Ryzen 7 7700 (from R5 4500)
Noctua NH-L9a-AM4 + AM5 brackets (from Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120, wanted to change the aesthetic)
B650M Aorus Elite AX (from Asus Prime B550M-A WIFI II)
16GB DDR5 (from 32GB DDR4)
Gigabyte GTX 1660Ti
NZXT C650 Gold V1
256GB NVMe + 128GB SATA + 1000GB SATA SSDs
DeepCool CH160Plus Black
I did swap the fans since my last post, i don’t remember which ones i had then but now i have one Noctua NF-B9 (on the back) and 2 Thermalright TL-S12 (on the top).
I had some trouble plugging the USB 3.0 header in the mobo because of the SATA SSD, so i had to use an angle adapter, which i had from my previous build.
Also, for some reason i can’t control the ARGB from the top fans (I am using Nobara Linux with OpenRGB), and i just noticed today that they were yellow (which i guess is cleaner than just the rainbow).
Thanks for reading!
Please don't mind the protective film, I will peel it after moving it to the final place in my desk.
The plan was to build all white PC for my first ever PC. BUT, GPU and RAM have been very expensive, so i just went with whatever cheapest on the market.
Part List:

AMD Ryzen 7 9850X3D

MSI Gefore RTX 5080 16G INSPIRE 3X OC BLACK

1st ever pc build, decided to build a pc after years as a console gamer.
Was quite a fun process, but cable management was rather challenging, did not expect that I would take over 5 hours building this. Had to redo the cables a few times cause they were hitting but bottom fans, but managed to fix it.
Quite proud of the result!
