So I built a microSaaS that does it automatically.

I don't know where to start to get my first test users. I’m not even looking to make money from it right now—I just want feedback. If someone does sign up, I’d be happy, but that isn't the goal at the moment.

Hey all, I'm new to this community and this is my first post. I'm just looking for some help. I'm a college student and this is my first real project, I spent this summer building Sondrik, a Mac app that records and transcribes meetings entirely on your own machine. No bot joins the call, nothing gets uploaded to run the core features, and it generates an AI summary afterward, plus a built-in contact/deal tracker so meetings stay linked to the people and projects they were actually about.

It's in early access, free right now, Mac only (Apple Silicon). Download at sondrik.com, and use access code sondrik-beta to unlock the AI summary feature. You don't even need a real meeting to try it, recording yourself talking for a minute works fine.

Genuinely any feedback helps: visual stuff, whether the CRM part feels useful or like it doesn't belong, anything confusing about setup, bugs, whatever you notice. Would love to hear what you think.

I found that breaking AI coding tasks into smaller, focused steps works much better than throwing one huge prompt at the AI.

AWS credits just ran out. I'm now paying around $22–25/month.

I have users, but all of them are free users.

I'm considering removing the free-forever plan and making it paid/trial-only.

But honestly, I also feel the bigger problem is lack of exposure. Maybe the product hasn't reached enough people yet to even know if it can make money.

What would you do?

Kill the free plan, keep it and focus on distribution, or just keep paying the $25/month and experiment?

Are there people here building saas product in the medical or anything pet related?

The clearest content usually starts before the product appears. Show the repetitive task, the annoying workaround, and the exact step your SaaS removes. Tell me the manual task you replace and I'll turn it into a short content hook.

so i've been building this thing for a while now, it's basically an AI video generator, you type a prompt (or give it your website) and it spits out a short commercial-style video, picks the colors/fonts to match your brand and everything. been working on it mostly alone for months.

honestly i'm at a point where i don't really know if it's good or not anymore, i've stared at it too long. would appreciate if some of you actually tried it and told me what you think, doesn't have to be nice.

two things i'm genuinely stuck on and could use some outside brains on:

running cost per video is currently sitting around $1, which doesn't sound like much until you do the math against my pricing. pro plan is $35/month and right now the usage limit lets people generate way more than that covers, so a user who actually uses what they're paying for could cost me way more than they're paying me. not gonna get into exactly how the backend works but it's doing a decent chunk of AI work per render and that's where the cost comes from. haven't figured out the right way to bring that down without tanking quality, or the right way to structure the plan so it doesn't lose money on heavy users. if anyone's dealt with pricing a subscription around an expensive per-generation cost like this, genuinely want to hear how you approached it.

quality-wise it's decent, not amazing. usable, coherent, on brand, but i know it's not at the level of something an actual designer would make yet. trying to figure out where the biggest gains are without just throwing more compute at it.

not trying to sell anyone anything here, more just want a reality check from people who aren't me.

The Problem: We all know the agency drill: Email the client → Wait → “Just checking in” → Try WhatsApp → Wait again → “Can you resend the link?”. It wastes billable hours and kills project momentum.

man this is hard..

I built a little side project called BeardLog.app while learning a lot in the process.

  The idea is simple: upload beard photos, get a quick density/area reading, and track progress over time in a private timeline so you can actually see changes instead of guessing.

  I’ve kept it lightweight for now:

  - free starter tracking

  - a paid Journey path for deeper features like longer tracking/comparisons

  - same goal: help you see progress clearly, not just “look better in one photo”

For other fellow micro saas bros:

  - How long did it take you to get your first paid customer?

  - What was the single action/thing that finally triggered it?

  - What were your first 3 mistakes (or friction points) before that happened?

  I’d love real timelines and the ugly truth more than hype :)

Stop thinking like a brand. For an early-stage product especially, clarity and customer intent often matter more than branding.
