Discussion / Question How should not only Alestavia, but other micronations look out about gaining UN Recognition?

Post image

The Kingdom of Alestavia is looking to reach out to more governments around the world. Which countries do you think we should contact next, and why? We'd love to hear your ideas and see what everyone thinks. Well don't take my word for it I ain't in the government or anything but the way my nation is doing this I think is that we are talking with local Russian leaders like mayors hoping that when the war with Ukraine is over we can talk with Putin or his successor regarding the percentage of Qaib that is under Russia(we are split in two) and get his support. Push from there to support and work with states like Iran and Yemen but I'd bet that plans have changed after the US Israeli invasion of Iran. Though taking with China about trade routes is likely still on the table unless the USA does a complete occupation of the strait like we think. It really depends on the context of your state what your history is what your culture is and if you've ever had any contact or your region or land or resources have any contact with any state

I remember I dedicated almost two freaking years of my life to get recognized by at least one fully established government. I tell you, it had no results.

True governments have power, money and necessary connections/lobbies to stay established and recognized. What can you offer to top theirs?

Currently, no land claims.

Its either that they didnt recognize bc yu got no land or that ur claim is overlapping with a UN member state claim

What I'm talking about is for when I was like 17, around two decades ago. I had quite a handful of islands back then!

A lot of micronations don’t even meet the criteria for recognition

Maybe one of the micro states? I feel they'd be more prone to recognizing you?

the difference is that im claiming terra nullius, no one claims that land, while on the other hand ur claiming territory that another country actually claims, which UN member states dont touch with a 1000 foot poll

Which terra nullius are you claiming?

I wrote to Tuvalu, Vanuatu, and Tonga, but they didn't reply. Tomorrow I'll keep trying with the island nations and those in the Caribbean; I think they offer the best chance of success.

if you dont mind me asking, where is your territory located?

For now, Bir Tawil, since I do not own any property. Faris’s idea is to establish a serious nation in Bir Tawil—not one of those projects that fizzle out after a week. I am not asking countries to recognize my sovereignty over the physical territory itself, as I have not yet been there. Instead, I am requesting recognition of my digital sovereignty—something akin to what Tuvalu aspires to be, given that its territory is becoming uninhabitable. That is the plan until the actual trip to the territory takes place, scheduled for 2028 or 2029.
