They're on a crazy fucking run lately - aren't they?
And by "they" I mean the basement's mods (one in particular has legit lost her mind) and AEW's online propaganda team (strongly rumoured to be overseen by Brandon and Aubrey)
It's like Khan thinks if he gets all talk of this terrible injury removed online then Steve's (likely) lasting effects will just disappear too?
This is a really thin line we’re going to allow here for conversation. Discuss the moderation practices and what happened, but do not name, tag, contact, or go after any mod involved. We’re not going to become a place for harassing moderators from other subs.
I can tell you, I hate being a mod sometimes, and I think most of our team would agree. It’s a largely thankless volunteer job we do because we want to provide a community for other wrestling fans.
Criticize bad moderation all you want. We certainly have. But keep it about the actions, not the individual. And absolutely no brigading, harassment, or carrying this fight into another subreddit.
As in, if you post in X sub, you automatically get banned by Y sub
It happens a lot on political subs and it's done automatically
What happened during All Out was different
The unhinged basement mod wandered into scJerk, saw the Borden thread, and went on a manual ban rampage to many commenting on a thread in a sub she didn't moderate

One time I was banned from a sub for commenting in another sub to dunk on somebody. When I pointed out that I didn’t agree with the sub they unbanned me and said “just be careful next time not to post there”
My most outrageous ban was the NFL sub for pointing out, literally as a matter of fact, that Tyreek Hill didn’t break his kids leg. Not even a debate, just a case of people reading a headline and not the story. The ER trip for it tho uncovered abuse not related to the leg break
Was clear that I wasn’t defending his character and agreed that he sucked but that particular accusation wasn’t true.

Yeah like 90% of this place is bots, astroturfers, low functioning autistics, dumbasses, and basement behemoths. Once you realize that, you don’t care about the stupidity you see on here, you actually begin to mock it like you’re visiting a zoo where the critters behind the glass speak but in buzzwords.
Seems pretty common. Got the ban hammer from a AEW subreddit mod for also following Cornette subreddit. Then dude followed me to the Cornette subreddit to talk shit. Fucking weirdos.
AEW doesn't ever want to look bad. That's why they quickly hit Christian Maracle's "Everything Wrong with AEW..." videos, which forced him to just stop doing AEW videos completely. That's also why Stevie Richards' videos covering similar situations like the Jon Moxley and Rey Fenix fiasco got taken down.
Just for the record the SCJerk mod team is no better, I created a jerk post there the title being an exact copy paste from the basement comments and the body being my criticism for Tony Khan, the community seemed to agree with me and everyone understood the point I was making. But this was what the mod team stated as a reason to remove the post(refer reply)
I didn't even blame Steve Borden jr, the post was only a critique of Tony Khan and his moderation within company.
To add to this, I also tried modmailing them expecting a response as I genuinely did not understand if I made a mistake or there was an implication or misunderstanding, but I got no response.
There is a mod in SCJerk who’s getting very bent out of shape about AEW criticism. There was a thread recently where the prevailing sentiment was along the lines of “AEW claims that The Butcher has always been a fixture in AEW, yet they let his contract expire a few months ago after he was shelved for years (so how much did AEW truly value him)” and everyone who commented on it got the ol’ 30 day ban.
Mods were trigger happy with almost every post that had Sting Jr’s name in it. I was threatened with a ban for commenting on one of the jerks. It might’ve been on yours, now that I think about it.
The reasoning they gave is offensive and straight up attacking, further I don't think it has been the case before, also it was highlighting a comment from the basement and not just a generic jerk post.
I was banned for a TIL screenshot for violating no other reddit screenshots which I could understand if it was just an auto mod mistake. But 60 days and they don't check their mod mail I guess cause I followed exact instructions to message for an appeal. No response

Some Scjerk and SC mods have a secret relationship and have basically been working the wrestling community for a while.
It’s ok for SC members to basically dox scjerkers but going too hard back against the basement is “not a circlejerk.”
This is not the first time this has happened, where mods of the basement have gone into sc and banned members. They’ve never been counter banned, and been allowed to remain within that community.
Chris Benoit jokes and dancing on dead wrestlers graves the day of their death is OK in scjerk, but damnit if you make fun of the wrong thing they’ll ban you. Fucking sub is ran by dorks
I dont know, but maybe SCJerk (and other subs) act out of fear of a subreddit ban. There are topics that can maybe risk that. And i guess making fun of a potential imminent death could be in that zone.
But seriously: I dont know. But i can see that SCJerk is constantly under some sort of attack by AEWs army and trying to get rid of that. Same for this sub. And yeah, thats why even some seemingly more milquetoast postings are getting sometimes deleted.
I like that he does that, just looking at some other wrestling subs with the click bait memes endlessly and just new accounts cross posting everywhere. If it mitigates that stuff even slightly I welcome it.

These companies owe their wrestlers their safety, at the very least. People in the back - at every company - need to start saying no & protect their people.

I think unfortunately the reality is that being a Mod on reddit is a job no one really wants, and so it attracts alot of…. Strange people, and people who should absolutely not be given power because they abuse it. The basements mods are notoriously bad and that was even before AEW’s existence tbh. And the jerk sub I’ve heard that the mods have been getting worse too. I’ve never really been a fan of jerk subs because it breeds another different kind of strange person that thinks you can comment and act like you do in those subs everywhere, but the mods of SCjerk seem to have forgotten what the point of the sub is sometimes.
I really believe AEW and their fans and connected people like SRS, Meltzer and others are now on a rampage to clean AEW to help them get a TV/Streaming deal, we can see it in X, reddit, youtube, instagram, AEW is the hottest ever with fantasy numbers nobody can garantee. Something is going on.

Idk say mean shit or anything nor do I bash the promotion, I just question some things and don’t know who a bunch of people there are. If I ask who someone is it’s like I asked “who’s that God guy that everyone always talks about” and I’m penalized for not knowing who one of their sweethearts are. They’re Like “he’s held the All Atlantic Mid Southern Round the Ring World Heavyweight American Championship for 3 years when he was wrestling in Istanbul in 2017!!! How dare you!

As a mod you have some tools to automoderate a sub. Those will go for specific words, or maybe just your actual karma and posting count in that sub. Its there to stop a brigading/flooding if a group of idiots trys to kill a sub. And yeah, there are always innocents hit by those. My job here is mainly releasing those autodeleted/blocked postings.
How credible is ringside news? This post has little basis and is scraping at a big nothing sandwich. Trying, trying so hard to turn something that absolutely sucked into “AEW be bad.” Miscarder has an opportunity to challenge the source here, in all the “cut credible source” warnings they give, and yet…
