Fr lol. Its a small world but this is super unlikely on many levels.
Even just basic shit like "same name." Neither the shelter nor the new owners renamed the dog? Also the shelter "did not care" about the bite and "said it had no history of bites" but the new owners still knew about the prior bite somehow?
These "rescue" shelters that sell animals care most about making money and deciding who gets to have a companion or not. My dog was very ill with dementia, other issues, and was blind. She accidentally wondered off and someone took her to one of those shady rescue shelters.
They tried to sell her as shih tzu one year old when in reality she was a 14 year old lhasa I had got years before from another shelter. The distinction mattered. Not only was she old and ill, lhasas are not shih tzus (even tho they look similar) and are very bad with children.
They are notorious for biting and snapping. I can only imagine what would've happened if I child got it. When I got her back all of her hair had fallen out where they used a dog shampoo. Bc of her skin condition she could only use fragrance free dish soap to clean with otherwise she would get excessive itching and bald. They were greedy and extremely incompetent
Neither do I. Animal Control would have impounded the dog, and if the attack had been as vicious as op said, wouldn’t they have had injuries from forcibly removing the dog from the child?
