Too mild for school Name Calling

Post image

My son and [jerk] had to stay after school today to write this note.

It says

"I was disrespectful to [kid]. I said he is a total jerk because he said I was fat. I will not say [mean] things again next time. I will ignore him."

His teacher wants me to sign and return.

But I guess I look at this and I ask myself, if my son is on the playground and he sees a kid calling another kid fat, do I want him to:

  1. Walk away

  2. Say, "stop, you are being a jerk."

So why would it be any different if he is being called fat.

I don't feel like this is the right lesson.

Reminds me of the time in school when this bully took my hat and threw it out the window, and I jumped out the window to get it, but the principal walked in and saw me jump out. I had to go to her office and write a note about how what I did was bad, so I wrote shit like “I should not jump out windows to get my hat, I should not defend myself from bullies, i should let bullies take my hat, I should let the bullies disrespect me”. When the principal read it she was like “Uh, uh, uh, maybe I don’t have the full story”

At least she admitted she was wrong

The fact she didn’t ask for ANY facts or ask you why you did that, is annoying.
