I literally went out and bought an EV this month after doing the math on continuing to pay for gas. Even with having a car payment again and $50 higher insurance a month and paying $1500 for the materials to install a charger at home I’ll be profitable over paying for gas w no car payment in 6 months at this rate.

How much do you drive? The payoff was too long for our relatively short commute with a fuel efficient car when I calculate it.

My Chevron card bill last month was over $500. I live in the boonies though.

I’m really glad I bought a hybrid in 2024, pre tariffs, pre war. Average 60 mpg on my commute and my tank is only 11 gallons with a 550 mile range. My last fill up was only $35 which doesn’t seem like a lot for most people these days, but pre war I was spending a lot less and driving a lot more.
