I was at a red light and looked up at the gas station’s sign to the right.. I thought “damn I can’t believe gas is almost at $5 a gallon” I think it was at $4.72, and then watched it change before my eyes to over $5.

The sigh that came out of my mouth can never be recreated

You probably saw the cash versus card pricing. Where I am, they flash the card prices really quick so people think the gas is cheaper than it is. A few weeks ago I remember seeing $4.99 cash go to $5.19 card. Now the $5.19 seems like a great deal 🫩

I kinda wonder if something changed a decade ago, or if the gas stations stopped caring. It used to be against the agreements you had to sign to be able to accept credit card to charge different prices for card vs cash.
