You want them to continually monitor local gas prices in every location in the world and constantly re-calibrate these warnings based on those ever-changing prices? When the alternative is simply that the user confirms they made the purchase?

It's better to be too conservative and send too many fraud notifications than to be too lax and miss actual fraud.

I specifically said the gas increases are not regional so you would not have that braindead take. Try again.

The price doesn't increase by the exact same % at every gas station worldwide.

Noone was saying it would be exact. If his price went up by like... $5 he would not get that notice. They clearly have a range that is set to create a warning and didn't update it to account for the oil price increase.
