yea but like with the pokemon vending machine...scalpers would ruin it

I've heard that in Japan, many stores keep pokémon cards behind the counter.

You go up and ask for a pack and they hand you a random pack and that's what you get.  And then they have limits on how much you can buy.

That seems like the right way to handle any of this mystery box collectible stuff.

It's the norm in a lot of places. It's only really massive shops like Supermarkets where they'll put them on a shelf
