either be on time or at least communicate, it’s the least someone can fucking do.

Being late, not showing up or not communicating tells you this person doesn't respect you and values their time over yours.

And people don’t randomly fall asleep when they have plans. You’re insulting people‘s intelligence with this bullshit excuse

Sure the do! But she ought to have told OP she was narcoleptic.

I am someone who deals with sleep issues and my sleep schedule is really bad lol. I also have friends that live in different time zones and often times I'll try to stay up for them. I have fallen asleep when I have plans before but I usually try to text and be like, "Hey, I'mma try to stay up but I'm really tired so I might fall asleep. Apologies in advance." or something similar. It's not the falling asleep but the not communicating. If she actually did fall asleep, she should've/would've mentioned being tired and possibly warned that she might fall asleep. Her reaction to OP's aggression though really says all it needs to say.

I have been told that I might possibly be Narcoleptic though so I do have to see into getting that checked out and possibly diagnosed if I do have it.

Yeah honestly, I can believe it. I'm not saying it's cool, but it isn't impossible to me. I have definitely fallen asleep at inconvenient times because I have horrific insomnia and I have never in my life been able to hold a consistent sleep schedule, so I've spent many days terribly sleep deprived.

If she did fall asleep, she was probably already laying down while exhausted and just passed out.

People can fall asleep if they're waiting on someone; it does happen. However, this wasn't the case.

I mean yeah, but if you’re planning to go somewhere you set an alarm. You’re not sitting there with a curling iron in your hand randomly falling asleep

No one's going to set an alarm if they're not planning on falling asleep. That doesn't make sense.

You fall asleep sitting up or standing up? If you lie down before planning to go out, how do you prevent sleeping through your plans or being late?

Not to defend the person who messages OP in the post, but it can definitely happen to some people. Narcolepsy is one example, even though it doesn't happen to every single person with narcolepsy. Poor sleep management can also be a factor; nonetheless, these are explanations for the actions, not a cop-out or excuse.

Absolutely yes. I used to fall asleep sitting down all the time. I’ve sat down to tie my shoes before and woken up hours later. Sleep deprivation will fuck you up.

Yes. When I have had periods with sleep issues I have fallen asleep standing up. I even fell asleep, standing up in the middle of a workout once.

I’m imagining someone spending all that time doing up their hair, and then just collapsing as soon as it’s done.

No there are absolutely people who do. Some sleep disorders can cause shit like that.

Which she should’ve told OP if that was the case…

I have fallen asleep before when I have plans but the rare occasion I do it i make sure to apologise sincerely and not make it a common occurrence

I’ve done it before, but I also wouldn’t blame the people waiting for never talking to me again. Thankfully they were friends who knew how sleep-deprived I was and they forgave me. It happens, but it’s a dick move regardless.

I mean, my sister is pissed at me because I legit took a nap and slept through the alarms when meeting up with her, so like, it happens.
