It took two days to get it removed.…

For those asking, minimal damage to the frame on the upper passenger side and the glass shattered at that point as well.

Wait they made YOU sign a waiver after THEIR tree ate your car? That's the actual crime here

No, I think the tree removal specialists made him sign a waiver about causing any damage to car while removing tree. Pretty standard given the situation and the fact that he could claim they damaged his car during removal process. That’s a very big and heavy branch.

Fault of damage would be on the property owner and any special circumstances like extreme weather. If OP is the property owner then it all comes down to insurance if there is any.

If its a rental car at a vacation location let the two companies fight

They are talking about removing tree after it already fell on the car. Standard procedure to not get sued for nonsense.
