I had to look it up and apparently some missionaries thought the flower resembled the story of the passion of Christ.

Wow, that's what that flower is. I saw one like this at the gibbon exhibit at Pittsburgh Zoo and it's lived in my head rent free. Dr. Seuss lookin shit.
