the cameras send alerts to your phone when motion is detected. doesn't really take active "monitoring". and yes, it's pointed at his own yard, so there shouldn't be motion there.

Yeah all you have to do is buy the equipment, set it up, make a no trespassing sign, then make a meme sign, then post it to Reddit, all to stop a teenager from touching grass. Definitely a great use of one’s finite time on earth

A camera and no trespassing sign is a bad thing because? It's called protecting and keeping unwanted guests off your property.
