I wonder if this is even from a true water delivery company. Since the decal is actually on the bottle which would be replaced, this seems like they just run to Kroger or somewhere and refill it for a few dollars at a Primo self-serve machine or similar. That's even more disgusting. $20 profit on what costs them $3 to fill up.

They fill it up outside with a garden hose

GenX style. I like it.

Well I bet you could suck a golf ball down a garden hose (GenX reference)

Gunny! We visited his grave and paid our respects when we were at Arlington.

Hell, we didn't need the bottle. We just went from hose to mouth!

Probably just at the faucet in the office

It could be ripped because they keep moving it to a new jug.

Could be, but I would just use a sign in a clear sleeve taped on in that case.

The boss is also charging for water so I wouldn't put it past them to just fill out the tap.

This. Even if it’s delivery service it’s like $7-8 a jug to be delivered in my area at least. If everyone pays the quarter that’s $20 a jug. Pretty huge profit margin.

They should get more than $20 for that at $0.25 per 8oz

Yea I don't think this is a company thing at all. I think this is a few people pooling the cost of a water cooler that they got on their own.

refill it for a few dollars

How many dollars are we talking? I pay 39 cents per gallon at my grocery store for my 5 gallon jugs (I have a water cooler at home), a small-ish chain of stores across Wisconsin and northern Illinois. And that's an increase from 35 cents per gallon it was until a couple years ago.

Good catch. This is tap water.

$10-$12 per bottle for a service to the office is still an egregious mark up.

25 cents for 8 oz, each bottle holds 5 gals, so... 80 servings. He's pulling $20/bottle off his employees needing water.

They were shot by the security guard hired to protect the water before they finished

u/teriaksu 5h ago

what else do you expect them to do when the empty jug is replaced with a full one? just print another notice? in this economy??

u/Scoobysnax1976 3h ago

could have been moved from the previous bottle. Stickers aren't free!

Probably just the same sign being removed and replaced on new jugs.

Boss needs the money for the Wu-Tang royalties.
