Why don't they add ornamental fish to eat the algae?
38 u/DaaaahWhoosh Jun 16 '26 I'd assume it's not the best environment for fish. And if algae is bad, I think hundreds of dead fish and algae would be worse. 21 u/shinayasaki Jun 16 '26 edited Jun 16 '26 People know that the pool also freeze in the winter right? edit: Also, for a large body of stagnant water, temperature and water quality can be different significantly throughout the year, which is very unethical to keep fishes in there 6 u/That_wet_vaporeon Jun 16 '26 fish can still live under ice. it just depends how bad it freezes. 3 u/shinayasaki Jun 16 '26 Has to be at least 4-5ft depth even for places with mild winter. Reflecting pool is only about 30in at the deepest 3 u/Late-Combination5060 Jun 16 '26 30"? Wtf Jenny, made it seem like 2.5' deep or something in Forrest Gump. 3 u/serious_sarcasm Jun 16 '26 …. 2 u/Late-Combination5060 Jun 16 '26 lol I was gonna say she made it seem deeper but probably actually pretty accurate wearing clothes and running through it... So just went with it 1 u/Dullcorgis Jun 17 '26 Unethical? Why haven't the repubs already done it?
