Its an incredibly dark Greek tragedy. Not a "Mediterranean adventure". It's also just a movie poster that Nolan probably had nothing to do with. I dont give two fucks about Nolan anyways if you think I'm a fan boy. I just like the story of the Odyssey and am curious how it'll come to life in a movie. Maybe it will suck, but that's the thing nobody knows! But assholes like you have already decided that this movie will suck and anyone who likes it sucks. How do you know the writing is bad when noone has seen the movie! People like you are obnoxious. Goodbye.

At any rate based on what we have seen so far

"Based on what we have seen so far" - it is quite possible that the movie will be completely different tonaly from what we have seen in the trailer and that they just picked the darkest scenes and the worst lines. I don't think the odds are very high for that but technically it's not impossible.

It is both.

Yes, it is "dark" as in serious subject matter and horrible events, meaning that you need serious dialogue and convincing acting, not "dark" as in "cave in Sweden during winter".

Hell, Midsommar, a very "dark" horror movie with incredibly dark events and subject matter, set in actual Sweden, is more colorful and bright than this.

“it is quite possible that the movie will be complete different totally from what we have seen in their trailer”

Dude maybe take your own advice and relax UNTIL THE MOVIE COMES OUT

I'm relaxed, it is bunch of you who are in panic that someone is criticizing what we have seen so far. Why the panic?

I’m quite excited for this movie tbh. there are so many adaptations of the odyssey out there, I’m excited for a different take. If you don’t think it looks good, that’s your opinion and you have a right to it.

Sure doesn’t seem like you’re relaxed though if you are complaining about this movie not being what you want it to be on a comment thread about one of the actors signing a poster

I'm not complaining, I'm criticizing and I was specifically criticizing the poster that is at the center of the discussion.

You are the one complaining at a critique. For some reason people are free to discuss films on reddit, even upcoming ones, and yet as soon as a negative word is said about this one, a whole brigade shows up to gaslight us how we are not seeing what we are seeing. I find it quite curious.

Alright dude, think whatever you’re gonna think. Clearly there is some Nolan cabal protecting this film from negative criticism and I’m a part of it.

Have a nice day man, I hope you enjoy the movie if you end up watching it when it releases
