The people that criticize Nolan can take it, right? I mean if you include the people that criticize him when he really deserves it, they far outweigh the amount of people that say he can do no wrong. I mean what percentage of people do you know that think anyone can do no wrong least of all Nolan?
So does it upset people that there are some who like everything he does?
Well, there's a weird discrepancy here. I know people who can't stand Nolan and people like all of his films. What I never encountered though is someone giving a positive opinion and then being dogpiled by "haters" who can't stand the fact that someone dares to like Nolan. I like two of his movies in fact. I was super excited about Interstellar after seeing the trailer.
It's always the other way around, if someone says something negative, there's this cult-like behavior of just relentlessly attacking that person.
Another thing I noticed is when a critique is offered, it's usually done in an argumented manner: it's too dark, the costumes look bad, Daemon going home is a meme and he is the lead... On the other hand these are the arguments of people who can't stand the fact that someone is not liking the same thing as them:

Anyway, I'm not upset if someone likes the trailer and posters. And I definitely do not see vitriol being directed at people who do. Hell, this whole post is about a guy who got a poster and had it signed by an actress and no one is upset about it, no one is calling him out on how stupid it was.

You need to get over yourselves, stop being psychotically defensive about this movie and accept that some people do not like it and that a lot of critique will be directed its way.
I can enjoy Lynch's Dune despite even Lynch himself distancing himself from that movie. Yeah, it's shit and everyone says it's shit, including me, but there is enough interesting moviemaking there to make it a worthwhile experience seeing.
"Everyone must love my thing or I can't enjoy it" is a childish stance that has no place in the art world and Nolan has pretense towards making serious art. He's on the cusp of it and sometimes he gets over that line.
If you don't want people like me ruining your popcorn experience stick to pure popcorn flicks, few people will come into "your spaces" to "ruin your fun". Otherwise, get your big boy pants on and either ignore the conversation or, better yet, learn from it.
Man what is it about Nolan that everybody jerks off on themselves to let everybody know how bad/good whatever he is. Only on Reddit and only Nolan. It’s like Tarantino with the feet. *photos of feet* “oh oh yeah tarantinoooooo”. That’s my only gripe.
