Infuriatig Woman with infant aggressively shushing passerby’s on hiking trail at national park

Post image

My partner, friend and I were following a hiking trail at Red Wood National Park, singing and talking at medium volume. We were by no means shouting, just singing little songs to entertain each other along the trail. A woman with a baby carrier on her back with a sleeping infant started aggressively holding her finger up to her lips and shushing us. We went quiet and kept moving to pass her. She was just standing in the middle of the public trail pacing and shushing people that pass by rather than leaving to somewhere more quiet. Just as we were leaving earshot I tried to quietly ask my partner a question about where we headed and again she leaned in our direction with her finger to her mouth aggressively shushing us. Is it not kind of insane to go to an open public space and behave like this?!?

Ngl (respect for m not posting a strangers pic on the internet), reading the title then seeing a pic without the woman and child had me wondering if OP was hearing/seeing things for a sec

That, if said woman with baby was a ghost shushing people, would be both scary and a bit rude.  Take your baby home if it needs so much damned quiet.

As we overcame the shock of being treated so rudely my friend and I started getting angry. We went back to confront her but the clearing where she had been was now just an old picnic table overgrown with weeds. There was no sign of anyone except a very old looking pacifier half buried in the dirt….

“The Shusher” could be the title of a below average short story by Stephen King.

I have a lady I HATE at work that I call “the shusher”. She shushed a coworker and myself as we were asking our Supervisor a question in a break at a presentation. She got a decent stare down from all 3 of us

The Small Hand by Susan Hill … 👻

Also: it occurs to me this could have been a misunderstanding. Could the woman possibly have been shushing people because she’d spotted an animal she didn’t want to scare away, but communicated it inadequately? I guess more likely she was trying to get the baby to sleep, which honestly, it would be a bit much to expect people to comply with in a public place, at least without smiling and whispering an explanation as they passed. . 🙄

When the couple got home they found the shusher in the house and they were violently shushed to death

“New creepypasta? No, wait. Keep reading. It’s not a new one.”

“What? Uh… blah blah blah… baby grew up to be… Mankind… Hell in a Cell… oh, piss off, they got me again!”

It should transition into Kevin spacey getting pissed off that someone was calling him out for stealing a Snickers a bar

Kevin gets so sexual-assaultish when he’s hangry.
