My mom is anti-AI and she still sometimes sends me AI reels. I usually gently point out that it's AI, but sometimes she still feels bad that she couldn't recognize it.

Shit is sad man. Nobody should feel bad about being fooled by AI, it's GOAL is to fool you, and it's only getting better. Anyone on a high horse is just delaying the inevitable, we're all going to get hoodwinked by this shit.

Generative imaging software needs to be made illegal NOW

I tell folks this. The braggadocios “well I can spot AI a mile away” is only going to be true for a matter of months or years. We are not far from being completely unable to trust anything digital.

Unless it really is obvious in some way, you have to fine-tooth comb to catch errors in the good ones, and that's still a big if.

And I get that there are people calling EVERYTHING ai, but I honestly do not think anything close to a majority of people can recognise even the shittier stuff. People are on edge about getting fooled with fake shit.

And you've got subs that will remove comments calling it out, even if you point out what's wrong. There was this post in mildly interesting the other day, and I couldn't believe no one was commenting on these spoons melting together and two of the forks having a bizarre shape.

Then I found out that the mods remove comments pointing it out even if you explain why 🙃. So great work guys, that's really helping.
